This is one good fishing reel! Maybe you have read some of my other reviews and realized by the amount of fishing gear I've bought and reviews that I love fishing and this is what I have to say about this reel. Smooth and effortless operation. Casts like a dream. I have one of the original abumatics that's older than my dad to compare to. They've only gotten better. My only complaint is the brass ring around the opening makes a lot of noise. Just a light yet sharp ringing noise as the line moves across its surface. ... show more

worst reel I have ever bought. Drag doesnt work very well. Bought it for my wife. Should have tried it before we went on vacation in june. Then I would have known what a piece of junk it was. She casted 3 times and it would not hardly cast anymore. I went and spent $10 for new line and relined it three more times. Same problem. Now it is past return policy. Will never buy anything like this from Amazon again. If I had bought at a major retailer , returning a faulty product would not be a problem. Now I am stuck with a piece of junk. ... show more

works ok but button that screwed into handle to keep from falling out continued to loosen when being used and would not stay on.Came off the 3rd time it was used and lost it.a real pain in the ass to say the least even though it was tightened as much as one could do.otherwise not a bad reel and would like to try another to see if it was just mine that did this. ... show more
