[UPDATE]: My dehumidifier has been active for three YEARS now. It still works well. My only intervention has been to replace the air filter -- with this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CQXQK4X6. I've had this dehumidifier for three weeks now. I got it for personal use, to help with my damp unfinished basement. The basement is about 1,300 square feet. It has never flooded, but stays around 65% RH year-round. After running this dehumidifier non-stop for a day, the RH was about 60%. After one week of constant operation, the RH stayed in the 48-52% RH range. Now, I've set the device's humidistat to 50%. The device is active maybe 2/3 of the time, and the basement stays around 52% RH. I think that is adequate for storing books, photos and other paper items. The device itself seems to be a Chinese knock-off of the much more expensive US-made "Dri-Eaz Revolution LGR Commercial Dehumidifier". The devices look similar, but the Abestorm has a smaller air exhaust, located on the side, not the front. The Abestorm has a much smaller display, requiring you to scroll through its different functions. Also, it does not have a removeable power cord. I have no idea about the relative quality of the two devices. But I don't expect that this Abestorm device is truly suited for "commercial" use. It probably has very limited support. But as a homeowner, I'll take the risk. I'll update this review as time goes by, assuming the device stays on the market. The Abestorm brand has only been around for about a year, so it's hard to know how long they will stay in business. ... show more

    • Simple to use, and quite
My crawl space was actually dripping with condensation and white mold to my horror. I used a mold stain remover to get rid of the mold stains. I first tried crawl space fans, but if you live in a place with high humidity these WON'T work. Maybe in a place like Arizona or Nevada with low humidity but not in southern Missouri. Out of desperation, I purchased the Abestorm LGR dehumidifier for my crawl space. The humidity went from 89 to 64 in about a week. I decided to lay down 10mil vapor barrier on the ground and spray with concrobium mold killer with a cold fogger. Took me 2 days to complete the vapor barrier, and block off the foundation vents with 1/2" foam insulation, after which the humidity goes down to 44. I've now got the humidifier set for 50% now which should prevent mould formation. This dehumidifier is directly below my living room, and I can barely hear it when it comes on, sounds like white noise or a distant fan. What I like best about the unit is it's simplicity of use. No "timer" menus or other needless things you don't need, just input your desired humidity level, 50% in my case, and it will shut off. If the humidity level goes higher, it'll start back again. The pump is great. I've got mine draining into a 4" plastic gutter pipe away from the foundation. Be sure to put the dehumidifier off the ground 8-10 inches. Mine is on concrete blocks. Also, make sure to clean the air filter. I use a water hose to spray clean mine, then let dry. I found a 4 pack of off brand filters for less than $40 that I rotate weekly. Right out of the box the unit gives error 4. Called their number and was told to fill up some forms to open a ticket. I decided to remove the plastic cover only to see the pump upside down. Put it back with the two screws from the factory and everything worked for a couple days. Then again E4 (error 4). Something about the pump doesn’t seem to work. I forced the system a few times to drain and still E4. Then I unplugged the drain hose. The water was gushing from the pump. Plugged it back to drain it properly only to hear and see the pump struggling to push the water inside the hose. I give up. I will return it to Amazon and look for something else. Im not even a professional trying to use the pump. I can only imagine the frustration if someone has to use it for a serious job. Update: whoever designed the cardboard box is an idiot. The top part of the box is like a dome over the bottom part that holds the heavy unit. There is no way to lift it with the unit in the upright position. The carrier has to flip the box in order to be able to load it. That explains the cracked pump that dangled inside the box until it made it to my porch. I thought it was unusual to see the box upside down delivered until I flipped it and tried to lift it. Anyway, the brand new unit came with a cracked pump. Oh, and forget about the WiFi feature. The app is useless. You can’t even register your account. Lots of errors. ... show more

    • Solved My Basement Problem
I'm very pleased with this product. It came quickly, set up easily, and is doing the job like a champ. My basement is so damp and smelly that I haven't wanted to work down there. I have had two smaller dehumidifiers running almost all the time without an appreciable difference. Just one day with this baby and the difference was amazing. The discharge water tube reaches quite a distance to my basement window and drains outside. It was a big investment for me, but I think it will be well worth it. ... show more

Bought this shortly after Hurricane Helene hit Western NC to help keep out small (600 sq.ft.) barndo dry. With a couple months the unit started shutting off with an E4 code. Reached out to the manufacturer and did everything they recommended to no avail. Now the unit has stopped working entirely and same code. Its a lot of money to spend for something unreliable and defective thats only just past a year old... ... show more

    • This baby really dehumidifies
I’m sick and tired of box store dehumidifiers that say 90 pint withdrawal, and quit working in 1-3 years. This unit is commercial grade. Fully automatic. Plug ‘n play (after routing discharge tube to a floor drain). I have a 1,600 sqft basement that is fairly dry anyway. This unit keeps it at 50%. No other unit could hold it there. It is quiet enough… yes I can hear the fan run but a lot of air is being moved. It is the sound of knowing it is working well. ... show more
