8/7/23 We purchased the SNS120 in 2022. The dehumidifier works well in our crawl space. It is relatively quiet. We are in Northern Colorado and with the SNS120 can keep the crawl space humidity at 36%. Without it, it will be 45-70% humidity, especially after it rains a lot. We ran into a problem with the refrigerant after a few months, causing the unit to stop working. Customer Support worked with us to have a replacement sent. The replacement has been working well for several weeks. I added the control panel that costs $99 more so I could remotely monitor/control the machine. Worth the extra money so you don't have to go down in the crawl space constantly. Plus, you can remotely trigger the pump from it to make sure things are working well. I highly recommend that accessory.

I cannot speak to durability, as I just installed it six weeks ago, but it is keeping my 3000 square foot crawl space wonderfully dry. The Seaira Watchdog unit that it replaced was here when I bought the house. It was larger and less powerful (90 pints@AHAM, 73ºF, 60%). The Seaira could not handle the area and the humidity teetered on too much. With the Abestorm, the humidity in the center of the crawl space measures around 46% with the unit set to 50%. (It is located nearer to the walls, where the humidity is slightly higher). I am as pleased as I could be after six weeks of use.

First, the unit was packaged with great care. Easy to set up, and to use. I hooked it up and it was plug-and-play. I ran the line to a drain and had my HVAC guy install a neutralizer to be on the safe side. After about an hour I began to notice a difference in the amount of humidity in my basement, and that musty smell is fading. Much better than that store-bought Sears dehumidifier that I had to keep resetting. This thing is a Bull! You will not be dissatisfied.

Certainly much less expensive than the Alorair Sentinel HDi90 dehu that I absolutely love (why? Well, the company offers a great product and excellent customer support). But the reason is almost certainly due to the "lesser" specs of this reviewed item. So I decided to compare it to Alorair dehus that offer similar performance to this reviewed item and found that this Abestorm is much more expensive than the Alorair Sentinel HD55 unit. No doubt that's because this Abestorm comes with a pump (like my HDi90) whereas the Alorair HD55 is just gravity drain. Bottom line, this Abestorm dehu is appropriately priced. Looks very similar to my Alorair. Seems really well-made. Came in a box that really protected the unit. Easy to put into operation. Filters are a bit different than those my HDi90; the good news is that they probably well cost less than the Alorair filter I use. The bad news is that replacement filters are currently unavailable (at the time of this review) and needs to be changed every few months (whereas the Alorair filter is changed/cleaned annually. So probably a toss-up. The cabled remote costs about the same as the cabled remote my Alorair unit uses. So again, a toss-up. Bottom line, my first impressions are positive ones. Won't really know how much I like this unit until well after this review is due so let's go with "4 stars." Wouldn't be surprised if I eventually rate this at "5 stars." I think this unit is worth your consideration. 4 stars.
