The instructions on how to open up the metal frame by yourself are not helpful unless you have very strong arms. Getting the top red clip to click can be tricky unless you know the trick. My tip is to open the frame as much as possible, then stand inside and carefully push the bent top sections to straighten one by one. Then making sure not more than 2 legs are lengthened fully flip it over on its side towards the 2 short legs. Then push down on each corner to click the red clips. Flip it back over the short legs and it's ready. Takes me probably less than 5 minutes. I like the shorter height because it's easier to put the canopy over the top starting from inside the frame and attaching the velcro one corner at a time. Hope this helps anyone struggling to put this canopy up by themselves. We love them. Bought more than 1. ... show more

If you thought about getting ABC Canopy tent but opted in for a wall instead of no walls, it will come in an ugly blue bag. It does show in the carousel of photos and it is my fault for purchasing, but I came from the ABC Canopy of no walls and I liked the black bag there. I’m returning this now. If it doesn't bother you, then by all means, but just make sure you know you aren't getting a black bag. Although the bag material is great and sturdy, it only opens on the end and doesn't zip down all the way to the other side. I’ll give this 4 stars. ... show more

I bought this so my wife and I could eat on our back patio without getting bothered by the flies. I paid <$100 for this tent, I see it is now priced at ~$150. I would not pay that much. My biggest complaint is it's a job to assemble it. The description states that it's easy for one person to assemble in less than a minute ("...enables ONE PERSON to easily open and close the canopy in ONE MINUTE without any hassle"). I found that statement to be untrue. I could not assemble this by myself and I am a healthy, reasonably strong 6' male. The challenge is getting the last 1-2" of extension so the clamps on the legs lock into place. That's when I needed my wife's help to support the roof of the tent to take pressure off the clamps that slide up and down on the legs. Because it's not easy to assemble it became a pain because we did not want to leave it up during a thunderstorm with wind gusts or when we left town for a week. It just became a hassle. Last night a strong wind came up and took me by surprise. It lifted the tent and bent one of the legs. When I tried to straighten it, it snapped off. However, I will say when it was assembled on a sunny day it did provide good shade and protection from the bugs. If we could have just left it assembled all the time it would have worked fine. I'll try to find a replacement leg as it's square tubing so perhaps I can fix it. ... show more

I purchased the 8x8 canopy with netting on amazon and it arrived in 2 days. The description states that it “enables ONE PERSON to easily open and close the canopy in ONE MINUTE without any hassle.” It spent a half hour assembling the canopy, but was not able to complete it alone. I needed a second person to help with getting the last 1-2 inches of extension so the clamps on the legs would lock into place. With this extra help it took 15 more minutes. Then the easy part of attaching the netting, but I found out that two sides were longer than the other two. That made no sense. It states that it is a 8x8 canopy which means it should be a square with four equal sides. I had to remove the first two sides and start over. Again, more time. All together I spent at least an hour assembling the canopy – not one minute. Once the assembly was completed, I enjoyed sitting outside under the canopy it provided great shade from the hot sun and freedom from bugs. It proved to be sturdy in wind. I was very relaxed and excited to show it off when friends and family came over. I loved it for the first month, but then it rained. During the rain there was no leakage, but even though the cover was pulled tightly on the frame water pooled on one side. I went out and removed the water and checked to see if I could tighten the canopy, but it was as tight as the frame allowed. The canopy did appear to have stretched a little bit. A short time later we were gone overnight and there was more rain. When we got home, I went out to check on the canopy and enough water had pooled on the one side that the weight snapped a connector in the corner. There doesn’t appear to be any way to repair it. The only way I can find to use the canopy now is to place a 2x4 piece of wood under the broken corner connector to support it. That means that I lose space inside and have to climb over the 2x3. One side of the canopy is now bowed so it bends inwards. I don’t believe that this is a problem with all canopies because my neighbor has one and they have never had this problem. The company’s information is a little confusing. Here are statements copied from ABCcanopy’s wesite: 1. “wind/weather or customer self-inflicted damage will not under any circumstances be covered under out return policy or the manufacturer’s warranty” 2. “This warranty does not apply to any product that has been altered in any manner, nor does it apply to any damage due to wind, rain, snow or any act of nature” 3. “One year after-sale protection for frame.” Is the frame covered when damage is done due to rain? If not by rain, then what does “after-sale protection” mean? The frame is bowed. I would think twice before purchasing this item. You need to consider how you are going to use it and how often you want to assemble it. If you want to leave a canopy up and you get rain in your area, this is NOT the canopy for you. I wish that my damage had been done in the first 30 days instead of 37 days so I could have returned it. ... show more

Be aware this canopy isn't very tall - we ordered the 12x12 with netting, and it's shorter than our 10x10 canopy. The picture showed the sides were 6.9 ft tall, but I'm 6' tall and needed to duck under the top. The edge the top cover came down to my chin area. If that's ok with you then everything else seems great. Assembly was quick & easy, the buttons on the locking mechanisms are convenient, comes with convenient items like sand bag holders and a nice rolling case. Seemed sturdy enough. If you don't mind the height, it's a good purchase. If they sold a taller one, I'd order it. ... show more
