  • Best canopy in the park - and I'm picky!
Size: 10x10 Color: White
I finally had the opportunity to get my tent set up for a weekend craft show. I can't say enough great things about this tent and the company that makes it. I'm an artist and use a pop up tent for craft shows. I looked at many different tents before deciding on this one from ABC Canopy. For starters, it's your basic 10 x 10 white canopy...but that's where the similarities end. The frame of this tent is huge and beefy....so sturdy and well made. And it's TALL - it has so much more clearance than other tents out on the craft show scene. All the joints and moving pieces are heavy and well made. They are powder coated in a granite/graphite grey texture that resists wear and tear, plus blends in with any color scheme. All the plastic joinery is heavy duty formed plastic - I don't think you could break it if you tried. All the joints themselves move effortlessly, no stiff or sticky areas. The push buttons for locking into place work well - both depressing easily for adjustment and locking into place. I will confirm another reviewer that says when the button is locked into place, the thumb depressor piece does stick out and you can see the spring....but not in such a way as it detracts from the function of the button or is unsightly in my opinion. It's a non-issue to me. The 500 denier top is exceptionally well made, as are the walls. All are easy to install and adjust when necessary, with many different options included in the package I purchased to give me versatility in my set up, display, and overnight security. The Velcro was strong and secure, and it was quite handy to have the buckle style Velcro on the zipper seams of the walls, allowing greater security in the wind if not all walls are up. As always, I was hesitant when the seller said the tent was 100% water proof....but after the weekend we had I will wholeheartedly agree. Not a single drop of water was inside my tent. Not one. And there was no weeping through the fabric, or condensation buildup after an overnight rainfall of 1 1/2 inches. The walls and top dried quickly in the morning sun, again with no water inside the tent at all. During the rain and wind squalls that came through the park during my show, many artists hung like apes from their tent frames, trying to hold them secure. One artist even attempted to attach her tent to a lamp post in the park as her tent kept catching air like a sail. While I always take precautions to secure my tent with weights and stakes....and allow cross flow of air so that I'm not a sail in the wind - I did NOT stake my tent this weekend, only used 40pound corner weights (admittedly not the weight bags that came with my tent set up), and my tent didn't budge. It didn't shimmy in the wind, and the top didn't buffet and flap in the wind. I had only minimal movement as the frame adjusted to the gusts - but I was never even concerned that it would be taken away in the wind. 2 artists lost their inferior tents in the storm, which is always sad, but I was confident and secure with my ABC canopy. This has been the best purchase I've made in a long time, and far outshined the other name brand tents around me. I received several inquiries from other artists about my canopy and where I purchased it. I couldn't be any happier with the quality, price and service I received with this tent. Well done ABC...you have my eternal thanks for making a stellar product! ... show more

Size: 10x10 Color: White
i'm a professional artist. i have used this tent in broiling hot parking lots, rain-soaked cemeteries, and my own back yard. it holds up to everything i have put it through. the frame is super heavy, and while you're lugging it around you might think that's a bad thing, but the minute the wind picks up and you start seeing other tents taking flight, you will be thankful for this sturdy beat. the sidewalls are so easy to use, or to skip. the tent frame itself is all one piece, and while it's a pain, can even be set up by one person. i've had colleagues go through three cheap tents in the same time i've had this one. durable, sturdy, and reliable. ... show more

  • Very good tent, but don't expect miracles
Size: 10x10 Color: White
I ordered 2 of these tents to use for Girl Scout cookie booths this winter. We ordered them because one of the locations where we set up booths is very exposed, and is often colder than the surrounding region. (For climate reference: We live in Southeastern Pennsylvania.) The tents have been used for 10 hours a day twice per weekend for the past 6 weekends. My overall assessment: These are good tents. I don't think any other tent could have handled the abuse we subjected them to better than they did. Set-up: They are pretty intuitive to set up, and they are pretty fast once you get the hang of it. After practicing, I can set one tent up alone in about 15 minutes, including all of the intense anchoring our location necessitates. Definitely plan for an hour the first time, though, and bring at least 2, preferably 4, people. Take-down: Not too difficult, as long as you do things in the right order (for example, detaching all of the wall velcro from the legs before collapsing them). Do not expect to fit the whole thing back in the bag with the roof and walls attached. It fits with some squeezing if you leave just the roof attached, but we left the walls attached, and just rolled the whole thing up in a tarp most of the time. Transportation: Completely collapsed, these tents are still 5 and a half feet tall. They will not fit in an average sedan's trunk. I drive a Prius, and I was able to fit them by folding down one of the backseats, and passing them in through the hatchback. With some maneuvering, I was able to fit both tents, all of our weights (8 sandbags and 4 Homer buckets), 12 cases of cookies, a folding table, and a child in my Prius with me. I can't believe I never took a photo of that. All those years of playing Tetris have finally paid off. Anchoring: The four little sandbags that come with this tent are not nearly sufficient. Filled with as much sand as I could shake down, they only weighed about 15 pounds each. Maybe 20 once they got wet at the first rainy booth. For reference: Most festivals require a minimum of 40 pounds anchoring each corner. We solved the weight problem by getting 5 gallon buckets and filling them with field stones from my backyard. I could have added sand between the field stones to make the buckets even heavier, but the stones got them up to 50 pounds each, so we left it at that, since not everyone can lift more than fifty pounds. We put a 50 pound bucket on each back leg, and 2 sandbags on each front leg. I wanted to just get more buckets for the front legs, but I wasn't sure how I would fit 4 more buckets in my car. We attached the anchors as follows: Tie the anchor rope through the loop on the roof corner, using a taut line knot. Tie a loop near the end of the rope, then a second loop where the end of the rope will come to when looped back up through your anchors. Connect the two loops with a carabiner. Pull down on the taut line knot until the line is taut. We used the loops at the top of the sandbags and the handles of the buckets to connect to the roof anchors. We then used a ratcheting strap to hold the buckets to the rear legs. At first, we were using the velcro to connect the sandbags to the front legs, but after several velcro straps broke off, we started just letting them hang taut from the roof anchor. Weather: We have used these tents in wind, rain, snow, and everything in between. There were even a few nice days thrown in there. They do keep the rain and snow out. They also keep some measure of heat inside. One weekend, there was snow on the ground when I set them up, and the next day, there were still two perfect squares of bare concrete where the tents had been, surrounded by snow. The biggest problem for us was wind. Even with 50 pounds on the back legs and 30 pounds on the front legs, we had to take them down on extremely windy days. There ended up being two days where we didn't even set them up, because the wind was too strong. We did find that it helped to detach the velcro strip where the wall meets the roof on windy days, to create a vent for the wind. Durability: By my calculations, these tents have had about 100 hours of use (10 hours x 10 days). They have suffered a bit over that time. A few of the damages: 1. The velcro straps ripped off of the sandbags. 2. A couple of the velcro straps ripped off where the walls meet the legs. 3. The roof was ripped in a few places where the wind blew it into a stone wall. 4. Almost all of the walls sustained rips of some sort. The one in the picture is the worst of them, where the wall got caught under the leg while it was being moved. A reinforced section at the bottom of the walls would be a really nice addition. 5. I just noticed today that one of the corner connectors (the black plastic thing that slides up and down to collapse the roof) is cracked. It is holding together right now, but it's the damage I am most worried about, because without that connector, I have no tent. ... show more

  • Strong Tent
Size: 10x10 Color: Gray
We bought this to use during swim meets with our kids in the summer. We had struggles with delivery. We were sent the incorrect tent and had to return it and then we were sent one that was broken. Once we received a correct one though, we were very happy with the purchase. It is very sturdy and I appreciate the walls that come with it because the sun is constantly moving. I struggle with how heavy it is to lug around, especially when I have to do it on my own, but the set up and take down is really simple. We get a lot of compliments on it as well. Lots of people ask us where we’ve gotten it and how we like it. ... show more
