  • Quick, Easy Water Testing — Helped Me Catch Tank Issues Early
Color: 100 Strips
I picked these up for my tank because I wanted an easy way to keep an eye on water quality, especially in a smaller setup. I’m currently using spring water (as recommended by my local pet store), but I still wanted to be able to test and make sure everything stays balanced. These are very simple to use: -Dip the strip in water for about 2–5 seconds -Remove and hold it horizontally -Wait about 30 seconds -Compare the colors to the chart on the container -It’s a quick way to check multiple things at once without needing separate tests. ⚠️ Important tip: Do not touch the test pads or shake excess water off the strip after dipping. Let it sit and develop naturally for the most accurate reading. I found this makes a noticeable difference in how clearly the colors show up. This kit tests for 8 different parameters: Free chlorine Nitrate Nitrite Hardness Total alkalinity pH Sodium chloride Ammonia nitrogen I also like that it comes with 100 strips, which makes it a great value if you’re testing regularly. My grandma has multiple fish tanks and has used this same brand for a long time, so that gave me some extra confidence going into it. ⚠️ One thing to note: some of the colors on the test strip can be a little difficult to match exactly to the chart, especially when they fall between shades. It still gives a good general idea of your water quality, but it may take a second look to interpret the results. Overall, this is a simple, fast way to monitor your tank and stay on top of water conditions, especially if you’re maintaining a smaller aquarium. 🔄 UPDATE — My Experience: I wanted to come back and update this review because I ended up in a real situation where these test strips became extremely important. After setting up my tank, I ran into unexpected water issues, and these strips gave me a quick way to check multiple parameters at once and understand what was going on without guessing. Being able to test right away and get a clear snapshot of the water helped me respond quickly and make adjustments. When you're dealing with a live tank, having something fast and easy like this makes a huge difference. They’re not just convenient—they’re something I now consider essential for keeping track of water quality and avoiding problems before they get worse. ... show more

  • Good product I guess?
Color: 50 Strips
I believe they seem to work alright. Easy to use and read the results. I've seen them change from time to time as I'm testing my tanks water. I'm not an expert to I just hope they're correct. Good value for money. The ammonia test does smell slightly different, can't describe. Maybe like ocean water? Not strong tho. Doesn't bother at all. ... show more

  • Good test strips fairly accurate
Color: 100 Strips
They seem like good test strips. They come sealed. The Ammonia does not appear to work, I am cycling 3 tanks with some goldfish in them and the ammonia never changes from 0. I am comparing to API test strips. for the other readings. These seem more sensitive to nitrates and nitrites which I like, although they take a minute to show up so be patient. The PH seems close it’s about .5 higher than the other strips reading. Total Alkalinity looks the same. Hardness seems ok but it’s hard to distinguish the colors I checked the chlorine and sodium chloride at my tap and in my water softener salt tank. No reading at my kitchen tap for chlorine or sodium chloride. I might have to get salt crystals instead of salt pellets in my water softener. In the tank the reading seemed correct.5-1.0 chlorine and high sodium chloride. Make sure you read the strip horizontally so the water doesn’t run off the pad like the instructions say. Conclusion: Fairly accurate Good price point for constant checking. Wait a minute or 2 for nitrate and nitrite readings. Read horizontally for best results. ... show more

  • Great kit. Ammonia strips are in a separate pkg.
Color: 50 Strips
These are just what I needed. I recently got a nanotank that I've set up for neocardinia shrimp and I'm learning so much. I chose this kit because it's much less expensive than the liquid one but still includes ammonia testing. Smaller tanks can become toxic very quickly and need to be monitored carefully so I really appreciate the quantity and value for the price. My local Walmart sells a 7in1 test kit with 25 strips for around the same price. So I basically got twice as many strips and ammonia tests for the same price. These are very easy to use and read. The included instruction paper is easy to follow and provides a brief rundown of all the readings along with suggested actions to address any concerns. So these are great for newbies. I can't really say anything for their accuracy, except that my readings are within an optimal range and my shrimp seem to be happy and healthy. On my first test the alk and ph were a little off but stabilized after taking suggested action so they seem to be accurate. FYI: the ammonia testing strips are in a separate pkg inside the bottle. I was really confused and disappointed at first because my strips only had 7 squares, not 8 as shown in the ad and review photos. The instructions explicitly say, “do not remove the dessicant package.” So while I did notice the extra pkg, I just assumed it was a dessicant pkg. I obviously felt pretty stupid when I discovered my missing ammonia strips in there, after having reached out to the seller directly, lol. I would like to note though that customer service responded very quickly and my agent was friendly and helpful. ... show more

  • Quick and Easy Way to Check Water Quality
Color: 100 Strips
These test strips have made checking my aquarium water so much easier. The color chart is easy to read, and I like being able to test multiple parameters with just one strip instead of using several different kits. They’ve been really helpful for monitoring my tank during cycling and for routine maintenance. If you want a quick and convenient way to keep an eye on your water quality, these are definitely worth having on hand. ... show more

  • Not trustworthy
Color: 50 Strips
I've bought this exact thing 3 times. This last one came with a separate stick to test ammonia levels. That's fine. Still had some left in previous one & didn't need to use these new test strips until 9 or so days ago. Instant panic as the test strip said i had dangerous levels of nitrates. Tested it again with another test strip with same results. Rinsed out filters in bucket of tank water & did a 30% water change. Next day a higher nitrates result! Very odd. There's no hidden muck on the bottom of tank either because I've found it to be better & healthier water & easier to clean with no dangerous hidden nasties in layered pebbles/substrate on the bottom. Tested my home water source. No nitrates. So this made me even more panicked that the strips were telling the truth. Tested tank water again & dangerously high nitrates according to this test plus now a not good ammonia reading. Then it was fine then it wasn't then it was aaaaaargh...Did another partial water change at 40%. This went on for EIGHT (mainly 25-30% partials) days because I'm an idiot & realized this on day 8 when used several test strips including several for ammonia in identical water sample & each strip had a big & different reading to a perfectly good reading. Decided to go to a more accurate, trusted & reliable way to test using liquid & not these test strips & bought a duo Monitor LIQUID test kit for nitrates & ammonia. (Also other liquid test kits available for all water testing which later I'll be getting now that the dangerous to deadly nitrates & bad ammonia test strip results are debunked). My water is FINE & aside from hoping partial water changes over 8 days doesn't crash the tank cycle I duplicated the Monitor liquid tests to identical results. We lucked out that the highly inaccurate test strips didn't convince me their water was in good shape when in reality it was very bad & killing them! Also used the test strips today with no partial water changes AFTER used the liquid testing. The strips again said dangerously high nitrates. The ammonia? Good then bad, repeat. The Koi are happy today after using a liquid testing kit, the water is & has been clear but testing is so important on a regular basis anyway because it can be clear & full of dangeous to deadly ammonia & nitrates, etc, blah blah blah. These test strips ARE easy to use & the first 2 I'd bought seemed somewhat in area of good enough but we did have a few unforseen surprises which shouldn't have happened were the strips accurate enough & thought these were flukes & now know strips can't be trusted with aquatic life & this 3rd has been hell on my Koi & my back, neck, knees & a literal pain in the as* & a groin pull doing all that partial water changing (huge tank not over stocked), water lugging & bending but the worst was fear & concern for my fish! We want them in safe water which is why we spend $ to test their water. I know I can't trust these test strips anymore & the Monitor (or other brand liquid tests ) cost more up front but you get a lot of testing from them still & it's ACCURATE & can be TRUSTED & experts say to not rely on any brand test strips & to only use & trust liquid tests & now I know why. Yes, you do have to take a little more time with liquid tests & pay attention & do them correctly but it was still super easy & fast with simple directions. Far easier than what these strips put us through here! My Koi were giving me the hairy eyeball today thinking oh no , more partial water changes & loud cursing AGAIN! Here comes the hand RUN! Nope. After using the liquid kit & a few times with identical water to identical results they & I breathed a huge sigh of relief & they got a little treat & few new decorative items instead & are happy & not messed with. Maybe in the next few days I can even rest after 8 days of panic & worry & partial water changes to stand up straight again. I'll never use test strips again. I love my Koi & they rely on me 100% for their safety & well being & when the experts say use liquid testing kits they're 100% CORRECT! Am relieved they are fine even if I need traction & they are not dead due to wildly inaccurate test STRIPS! Wasn't anything 'easy' for they or I those 8 days! It's a gamble now I see using test strips. Not gambling with my Koi using them ever again. Fish can't scream to let us know they're in bad water & don't evolve fast enough to climb out to survive & test strips just aren't worth the risk. It's not value for the money either needing to use so much water for NO REASON, the dechlorinated additives before adding new water in, the time & the mangled body plus I PAID for these test strips that caused all of this! I'm out $ for nothing but hassle & worry. DO NOT TRUST 'EASY ' & 'CHEAPER ' TEST STRIPS! Don't trust them at all if you care about your fish or aquatic life. Or your body unless you have an easier water lugging set up or are young & strong like bull but bottom line is we all want healthy & safe fish. You can Google test strips vs liquid test kits. There it tells you this & more. Wishing you happy fish & ALIVE fish. Your as* & groin will also thank you ... show more

Quick, easy, and trustworthy results all in one package. You can get this set of water tests, and be able to test all standard water parameters-avoiding the much higher prices you’d pay in pet stores without sacrificing quality.
