I got this memory to upgrade my 1998 - A1278 MacBook from 2 GB to 4 GB. It came securely packaged. The Memory was easy to install (search the Internet for videos). Apparently through research my husband found out that to upgrade to 8GB doesn't add as much improvement and then creates other issues. My MacBook,works so much better now. No more spinning wheels when I have Word and Firefox open at the same time. This was a great buy. Highly recommended.

Every OS update seems to add features (whether you need them or not!) and that means running out of memory. Then practically any app must shuttle data to/from the hard drive and everything slows way down. This 4 GB chip set was the maximum specified for my laptop. It took only 10 minutes to install and my laptop worked as new! A real bargain!

It turned out that I didn't need 2x2GB because there was an empty slot available (unusual in most laptops) and 1x2GB would have worked. Nonetheless, I'm happy to have a matched set to enhance dual channel mode performance, which I've read works in this old MacBook when two SODIMMS are installed.

My older iMac had two open RAM slots and I didn't want to break the bank for a quick upgrade. This kit was perfect. Easily installed and no problems at all. Only tool needed is a #2 Phillips to open the memory cover. I paid full Amazon price for this kit and received no consideration for this review.

I needed to upgrade the ram on my 2009 iMac. I came accross this product and decided to buy based on the positive reviews and the compatibility with my computer.
