  • Upgrade for a Dell XPS 8900 bought 2017
Size: 8GB
I bought a Dell XPS 8900 PC back in 2017. On the Boot Menu (press and preferably hold F2 when you turn the PC on) I found out the memory specs: Memory Installed: 16384 MB [or 16 GB] Speed: 2133 MHz Channel Mode: Dual Technology: DDR4 SDRAM DIMM 1 Size: 8192 MB [or 8 GB] DIMM 2 Size: 8192 MB [or 8 GB] DIMM 3 Size: Empty DIMM 4 Size: Empty So I bought two A-Tech 8GB DDR4 2133MHz DIMM PC4-17000 UDIMM Non-ECC 1.2V CL15 288-Pin Desktop Computer RAM Memory Upgrade Modules. Installation was a breeze and they worked. The PC recognized them readily. I was worried by the "UDIMM" term, but on a cursory lookup on Google, it seems that DIMM and UDIMM are the same thing (unregistered memory). I was also worried by the "PC4-17000" term, so I looked it up and found it refers to the DDR4 speed. DDR4 Speeds: PC4-21300 (2666MHz) - PC4-22400 (2800MHz) - PC4-19200 (2400MHz) - PC4-24000 (3000MHz) PC4-17000 (2133MHz) - PC4-25600 (3200MHz) - PC4-26400 (3300MHz) Bottom line, if your PC is a Dell XPS 8900 with 16 GB RAM, chances are this item is what you need to fill'er up to 32 GB (2 x 8GB memory modules). ... show more

  • Works, can't ask for more.
Size: 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB)
When upgrading from 32gb to 64 gb ram I had purchased another brand that offered a "guarantee" to work when running their software that tells you what to buy. Didn't work. This did. With no fiddling around or other issues. Put into place and off and running. I started with one set of two (2x16) in order to minimize returns if this didn't work. So now I'm ordering a second set to max out my machine. It's not the newest or fastest but if you have a 4-5 year old machine that needs some TLC and this matches the speed of your old ram, it's worth trying! I've always bought the "big" brand but no regrets here. Will update if something goes wrong. Edited to add: Received the second set and was able to install and get it up and running but had to tweak a setting in the bios. After that no other problems so far. Added to a new SSD drive and my older computer (Dell XPS 8900) now has new life and can handle Photoshop and Premiere much more snappily. ... show more

  • Right out of the box, worked on Lenovo desktop.
Size: 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB)
if you are like me and are using a prebuilt lenovo and then you upgraded it with a new gpu, cpu and all that fancy-ness, when you install this ram kit there is a chance that you display wont pick up your graphics card as the main source of connection, in this case you will have to plug ur hdmi into your motherboard, head to the BIOS and change your booting setting from there so it picks the PCI-E slot. Now when you are about to save and reset, be ready to plug in your hdmi back into your GPU as fast as you press Enter to reset it. That should do the trick, if not, make sure you installed it correctly, check online, ect. This ram kit is super nice for multitasking and gaming. ... show more

  • Ram may not be as compatible as I thought?
Size: 16GB
I have two slots for ram on mother board in one slot a gskill 16gb ddr4 2133 pc17000 15-15-15-36 1.2v and I stuck this new ram in and my pc did not want to boot. The gskill ram is fine , Ive used it with a smaller capacity Kingston stick without issues.. After playing witht he bios the atech ram woked when I booted the computer but if I did a restart it would hang... So i dunno if it s bios setting or a bad stick or its just not compatable with my gskill stick... I am unable to get the two sticks to work together reliably without getting hung on restarts.. I dunno if buying another 16gb or atech and pairing them both would work. I give the ram 5 stars cause I am not sure whos fault it is that its not working.. lol.. good ram for the price. ... show more

  • Questionable compatability
Size: 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB)
Product was received in good condition, well packaged, and professionally manufactured. Everything seemed OK, but my machine refused to even boot up. Checking further into the specs, this manufacturer is NOT listed on the ASUS QVL (Qualified Vendor List) for my PRIME H270M-PLUS. Bottom line, double check your manufacturer compatibility carefully before you order. If the motherboard is listed as compatible, the cards look like they should perform well, fit the slots, well coated, etc, but apparently there are some issues with specific manufacturers that are not very clearly described in the product listing. ... show more

  • XPS 8900 - Great Upgrade for RAM
Size: 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB)
I wanted to take my 16 GB PC and upgrade to 48 GB because I do some cyber security courses and running VirtualBox and Docker can use up a lot of ram, but the system has been keeping up in terms of everything else. I wrote this review because when I put the RAM into the system, my PC would not reboot. I called the number on the container the memory came in expecting the worst. A Rex answered, made some suggestions, gave me a number and email to check back on, and after following his suggestions I had the whole thing up and running within 10 minutes. Fantastic service, fantastic value, and I now have a lot of memory to play with. Thanks! ... show more

  • I successfully upgraded my computer from 8GB to 16GB!
Size: 8GB
Google brought me to this page when I was looking up « ASU21D4U5S8MB-8 » (the esoteric number from my Ram stick, hoping I’d find the exact same one out there...). I trusted this merchant’s claim that his Ram is « equivalent » and... sure enough, it was recognized right away by my system which has now been running very smoothly for a few weeks at 16GB! ... show more
