This memory went into my Dell Dimension 2400, and even though the owner's manual says the computer will take a maximum of 1 GB of memory, the computer recognized the 2 GB of memory and continues to work just fine. Used memory to rebuild a small tower for my daughter. Unfortunately, the motherboard would not recognize double sided ram sticks, problem with the MB. I installed these on an old Pavilion 620N that had a motherboard with 2 slots for ram, maxing out at 2 gigs of ram. The first time I put them in, the Bios only saw one stick of ram. I turned the PC off and reversed the pieces of ram in the slots. After rebooting, the Bios showed both pieces of ram and the PC works fine and is much faster now. ... show more

    • Great ram, but smelly?...

The ram works flawlessly, the only oddity that I experienced was after installing the new ram chips, I smell a plastic burning scent. The chip I.D. plastic stickers on them say if removed you will void the warranty, I really feel that the plastic I.D. warranty stickers heat up and you smell the heated plastic. Thinking the smell would burn off after a few days or weeks has not happen. Really considering removing the stickers because all my clients who come into my office say they smell a funny scent. Reinstalled the old chips no smell, reinstalled the new chips smell is back. It's a catch 22 don't want to void the warranty, but I also don't want a smelly office. ... show more
