I use Rock Sauce Fire and was looking for something that lasted longer. Fire has 10% menthol, so 16% menthol is better. Right? You would think so but no. The roller is great. The liquid is thin. I shook it up, rolled it on and couldn’t feel anything but a slight cooling sensation on my hand. That is until I put on my gardening gloves and went outside to work and the heat finally showed up. I have nerve pain in my hands from arthritis and the heat is what I want to distract from the pain. The menthol is the delivery method to open the pores to let the heat in. I’m not impressed. You can only use it 4 times a day. When my hands hurt I want to be able to use it as much as I want. I’ll stick with Fire. I’m just glad I didn’t waste a lot of money. Update: I had pulled it out of the trash and put this on prior to writing my first review. A few hours later it really kicked in and continued to give me the distraction I was looking for. I think I might have gone outside and that’s what got it going. It’s now 102 outside and I just came in. My hand is hurting (CMC joint) and I rolled on the Cool & Heat, it started working right away. It helps if you’re already warm/hot. This will be great after a shower. I noticed yesterday it worked for several hours, so 4 times a day is more than enough for me. The product is easy to apply and I noticed immediate partial relief of discomfort with pain in hip. The odor can be strong initially. I accidentally touched my hand to the area before the product was fully dry and had some mild "burning" sensation briefly in my fingers. Overall, I found this product effective. ... show more

I've used Icy Hot and Stop Pain sticks/roll ons for over 30 years to help with severe migraine headaches. Most only contain about 4% menthol and don't stay hot for more than a few minutes. I have searched for years for a higher percentage of menthol. This stuff has 16% menthol and, wow, is it effective. I put it on my forhead, temples, and cheeks and then put a heating pad on top. (Directions state NOT to do this.) This menthol gets hot and stays hot for quite a while, at least 30/40 minutes vs only maybe 5/10 minutes for the other stuff. I don't recommend using a heating pad with it for novices. It can get brutal hot, almost too much, but when my head is screaming in agony, it takes my mind off it just enough for a chance to sleep. I have found that, for me, I need heat or ice packs to make it hot enough. I put it on a sore muscle under my clothes, and it didn't get hot at all, but if I sit under the ceiling fan for a minute, that can activate it enough. If you're a novice with menthol products, I advise starting at a lower percentage, because if it's too hot for you, you have to wait it out. Do NOT try to wash it off. I have tried so many brands of roll on pain relief, due to osteoarthritis. This one A+ Health Cool and Heat, doesn't get too hot. Some brands burn me. This one is just right and the price is awesome! 👍👍

I was unsure about purchasing this item I have used several other products with pretty good success I must say the 16% menthol was a game changer this stuff is amazing and will be ordering it again so if you're on the fence you may want to give it a consideration!!
