I originally wrote that the wire has a non-conductive surface. That's true, but my bad. Though I did see somewhere a description of this wire as "bare copper wire", it does not say that when you click on the product. In the description itself, it notes coated with polyurethane. I missed that. The wire is as described, and that poly coating amazingly stops all conductivity, so it is also likely to serve its intended purpose to keep this wire shiny when used for projects. Seller offered me a refund, but my fault so I will keep it for other projects. ... show more

I thought this would be good for electrical applications. however, there is no current detected by my multimeter even at 15v supplied by my power supply. Due to this, there is noway this could be 99.9% pure copper

I only get Vine items that I plan to use personally or for someone in my family and I do a fair review based on our assessment and use of the product. I leave 1 star up to 5 stars if I really like the product and didn't find any issues with it. This copper wire seems to good quality. It is very flexible and you can bend it back and forth many times without breaking it. The plastic piece it is wrapped on is very flimsy and breaks very easily, but I don't think I will ding the copper wire for that failing. So far I am happy with this wire and I think it is a good deal. I hope this copper wire lasts me a long time, but I will update my review should I have any trouble with it in the future. I bought this because it was advertised as 99.9% copper. I have my doubts. It has a film coating the wire that won’t let it oxidize in the liver of sulfur. Even after banging it with my hammer, and soaking it in the solution for 20 minutes it did not oxidize. The smaller, 20 gauge, wire I wrapped the bead in oxidized immediately upon entering the solution. ... show more
