  • Worth the money
Worth the buy! This has so many games! The screen is so clear! Exactly as described!

  • Perfect if you love arcade games!
I'm really happy with this game system. It is really well made and feels like a quality setup. I have mine sitting on my bar and always ready to play. It has a lot of weight to it, which is great because it keeps it in place and doesn't slide around easily. The controls all work well and remind me exactly of arcade game controls. These pandora systems really shine if you're into the pre 2000 era arcade games. These play all of those games very well, and with the controller layout, it's a great experience. The trick with this is to angle the screen just right, and it looks great. If it's at the wrong angle, it can look funny. It has a bright, clear display. The audio is nice and clear. The game system is easy to use and understand. There are duplicates of some games, but all of these systems have duplicates no matter where you get it from. Arcade games play great and really give you great memories from the past. A bonus is that you can make saves of these games, and you get unlimited credits. This means you can actually do complete play through of games that would have cost you a lot of money in quarters back in the day. It has a very good battery life but can be plugged in and charged while playing it. It has a basic controller you can connect if you want to play two players, but many other controllers would be compatible if mapped properly. I will say that I would not get this for a child for various reasons, but this is perfect for an older teen through most adults. It's very nice quality and a nice value for what you get. ... show more

  • What an awesome item! What an awesome item!
I am so impressed with this device. It comes in a beautiful white case. Most of these are black but this one has a beautiful white metallic look to it. It's running a very basic version of Pandora, but that's okay because it gets the job done. It has a really nice ability to use the joystick as a handle, giving it a place to store the joystick when it's folded and functionality. This thing feels Rock solid and is not overly heavy because it's not super big. It's perfect for portability. The screen and sound is also better than some of the others I've used. I had no trouble turning this on and playing right away and it has many of the most popular arcade fighting games. It has all the connections available to use it to hook up to a monitor if that's what you want to do or add a second controller. It's a very easy to use system and understand and it's like having a portable metallic arcade with you at all times. I'm really impressed with the quality of the buttons and the joystick and the overall build quality of this. ... show more

  • Good and Bad.
This device is a bit of a mixed bag. The case is awesome. Very sturdy and well constructed. The screen is decent, but if you're used to viewing 4K displays these days, this one at only 720p is noticeably fuzzy. The buttons all work well, but the arcade joystick on mine seems to have issues consistently registering diagonal inputs. The extra PlayStation style controller they include is very low quality, I'd recommend getting a better one. Game selection is pretty good, but there are quite a few duplicates. I counted 5 or 6 copies of a lot of the games as I was scrolling through. There's a good mix of arcade games, and some from various consoles. The menu interface is decent, and is fairly easy to navigate once you figure out what the buttons do. Overall I like it, but that's when using my own controller. It's playable out of the box, but your experience may vary depending on which games you're trying to play with the included controller options. ... show more

  • An amazing selection of games, with flawed manufacturing. An amazing selection of games, with flawed manufacturing.
Remember that great little hole-in-the-wall arcade you spent all your lunch money at when you were a kid? Have you ever wished you could shrink down all your favorite games from that arcade, and pack them into an easy to carry form, with its own screen, joystick, and button controls? That's pretty much the intent of the "UYXOERA 9800 in 1 Hand-held Portable Arcade". It's an idea that's great in concept, but its implementation leaves a lot to be desired. The case is essentially a solid metal briefcase (more on that shortly), and could probably withstand Donkey Kong himself pounding on it. It even has a combination lock, a metal-encased screen, and the joystick doubles as the briefcase handle. Though you do have to tighten it with an included wrench before playing. I'd recommend securing it to the case with velcro, so you don't lose it. Closed, the case measures 10.5 inches in length, 7.5 inches in width, and 2.75 inches in height. The viewable portion of the screen measures 10 inches diagonally, and is stated to have a 1280 X 720 resolution. Though I haven't used it outside (we're in the middle of a record cold spell at the moment), but I can tell you that indoors, even under bright light, the screen looks great. Even the old games designed for early 1980s CRT screens look great, and display full-screen. The games are really great. There are enough games to conceivably keep you busy for months of sleepless gaming. From what I've tried so far, the selection includes not only popular titles, but positively obscure games as well. They range from the old vector games from the early 1980s, to the early 2000s. The start menu list includes 9800 games, though be aware that the list includes tons of variants and sequels to popular games. For example, one popular fighting game has nearly 40 variants listed, though that's not the norm, as it seems that most popular games only have a few variants. And in a list of 9800 games, there's plenty of room for a variant or forty. Honestly, just watching the short display of the idle screens from the games, as I scroll through the games list, I feel like I'm watching glimpses of the entire history of great arcade gaming. On the back of the unit, you'll find a panel with the various inputs and outputs, as well as a volume control wheel and a "setting" button. The setting button allows you to access the primary control interface for the unit. In it, you can configure settings like "difficulty", "lives", etc for the individual games. You can also configure the controllers and panel buttons to your preferences, as well as set it up for 1 to 4 players (though you may require additional USB controllers). You can also add up to 99 of your favorite games to a "Favorites" list for quick access. The unit's rear panel also has two USB-A jacks, as well as HDMI and VGA video outputs. I don't have a VGA monitor, so I can only assume it works, but the HDMI output does a great job at handling even higher resolution TVs (the built-in screen is blanked out while the HDMI is connected). There's also a "TF" slot with a 32 GB micro SD card in it, which I believe is used for the game data. The "portable" arcade unit includes a separate USB Playstation-style controller. From what I can tell, the controller doesn't work on most of the early games, but does work on most of the later ones I tried. Another item that's included is a plastic bag of extra buttons, just incase you get a bit too rambunctious playing your favorite game. It also comes with a "wall wart" for charging. Speaking of charging, the battery life is extremely impressive. I expected a charge to maybe last 30 minutes to an hour max. But a charge lasts for 4 to 5 hours! And I have yet to feel the unit get hot during play or charging. Lastly, it includes a reasonably useful, full-color instruction booklet (if nothing else, it's helpful in figuring out the default button layout). So... all that's the good. Now for the bad: Firstly, as mentioned earlier, the case of the unit is solid metal; heavy metal. I have no idea how much the unit weighs, but it feels like it's at least ten pounds if you try using it on your lap. Seriously, this thing isn't lightweight! Do your legs and back a favor, and use it on a table or desk. Besides, with that weight to size ratio, balancing it while trying to use it on your lap is challenging (to put it kindly). Because of the weight issue, I'd never be able to consider it a "portable" unit. The case (despite its weight) is a fairly nice design, with a cool little retro looking battery indicator, and real arcade-styled buttons and joystick. But be aware that the power button is located on the outside of the case, and it's very easy to turn the power on or off accidentally. The one item that's conspicuously missing is a headphone jack. If you have the DIY skills and tools, you could probably wire one in with the speaker wires. The build quality has a few issues you'll probably want to resolve. On mine, the wire bundle that goes to the screen from the main panel was only protected by some sort of cloth wrap. Since it has to pass through a roughly cut access hole, the "wire wrap" began to fray after opening and closing the lid of the case just a few times. I used some heavy-duty tape, wrapped the wire in that, and it seems to be fine now. The other issue which arose very quickly was after moving the unit around a few times, it developed a rattle, as something had come loose inside. I didn't want anything causing a short, so I opened it up to check. Apparently, whoever assembled mine decided that instead of screwing down the plastic motherboard stand-offs, they'd just slip them under the board. I was able to screw one down, but the hole for the second stand-off's screw was missing. So I secured it with some silicone adhesive. Quality Control must have been sleeping the day mine was manufactured. With all the good and bad considered, I'd say this unit is great for either a retro-gamer with limited space for a game system (like myself), or for someone with kids in the tweens or teens who are hard on their electronics (it's practically kid-proof). Just be aware of the multiple minor problems that will probably need fixed on yours as well. But if you've ever opened a computer, you shouldn't have any trouble. Despite the trouble, I'd still consider this unit to be a bargain. Look at it this way, when all's said and done, it's less than 1.5 cents per game. Please just take a few minutes to see if yours needs fixed before using. ... show more
