  • We love this mini split unit.
Wow is all I can say. This unit keeps our spare room nice and cool for guests. We've had zero complaints about comfort and noise. We have found this to be a good value for the money. We paid $400 for a local handyman to install the unit, but someone with the right tools and some basic handyman knowledge could easily install it. We're in FL, so we haven't used the heat as yet. ... show more

  • error in description this is not r-32!!! in fact, it is r-410a
good heat pump. works well. everything you need is included. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because the description is a lie where it says that the freon is a new generation r-32. in fact, it is r-410a. nevertheless, it works great but is less effective for heating.

  • Response to long review saying unit is over charged
Sweating at outdoor unit is normal for mini split systems. The metering device/TXV is in the condenser not the evaporator on mini splits therefor it will condensate from outdoor unit also. They are not built in the same way a standard split system is built with the metering device/TXV at the indoor coil. ... show more

  • Cool Runnings.
Works great!!! Worth the money. Even if it lasts five years. Cools my den to 65 degrees. Quiet and easy to install. Just have HVAC come to vacuum the lines.

  • Pleased. (with thoughts)
I bought an Acekool 115V 9K btu heat pump minisplit via a different Amazon listing. I think it is this same unit. I followed my Amazon purchase back to what was supposed to be the listing for it but it is now for a different unit. The Acekool I received installed fine and runs 'fine.' (be particularly careful flaring and connecting the lines – use a rolling flare tool and Nylog). I checked the power pulled and saw that it slowly ramps up to 500w when starting and then backs down in steps to finally sitting at 200W for most of the night, even dropping to 175 at times (relatively cool OD temps) . In turbo and lowest tempt it pulls 500W. I have a small inverter generator (750W continuous Sportsman) and while I haven’t tested it I pretty confident it can ruin this thing during a power outage. I'm happy enough about all that but I have noticed that the outdoor unit is dripping condensate (in cool mode). I found that there is significant "sweat back" (liquid freon coming back to the outdoor unit) indicating an over charge situation. The instructions say it can be installed with a line set of up to 25ft (I think that's the number). My install is not much over 8ft so maybe that is involved. An issue is that the technology employed in the unit determines whether the unit can compensate for overcharge. Pricier minis have digitally controlled flow control that holds back any extra freon while the cheaper ones use a simple (cheaper) orifice (bi directional as it’s a heat pump) that doesn’t. A little is OK but too much can cause reduced performance, lower efficiency. and if bad enough can cause compressor failure. Getting the charge right on an inverter system is tricky but I had to attempt to draw down a little and then carefully watch it. Seems to have improved the situation. The dripping went from one drop in 3 seconds to one in 7 sec. When I was shopping, I would have liked known that this was unit didn’t have digital flow control but I have to say they seem to have attained respectable SEERs with a simple orifice and the price is right. My take is that units with SEERS in the 20s likely do have digital control. Let me close by saying I’m still pleased with the unit which I installed in the Mbr for a hot sleeper wife and saves me from having the supper cool the whole house at night😊. I those with short line length installs should take note. ... show more
