I am so incredibly happy that I got this. My car is a 2009 kia rondo without an infotainment system. I plugged the power cord into the cig lighter and right away it turned on. I used a USB c cord to plug it into my phone and then maps and pandora came on right away. This is going to help me so much! It brings my old car up to date! I haven't installed the back up camera yet because I want to make sure I do it right but so far from my research it looks fairly simple. The only thing I'm nervous about is splicing the cables to the reverse lights. Otherwise it seems easy. Very happy with this, screen size is wonderful and nice and big. The mount is great too as it can change from flat to standing. You won't regret buying this and I'm really happy with it. ... show more

    • Nice unit and CarPlay functions, but the instructions and camera leave much to be desired.
I mounted this unit in a Scion xB and found the mount, adhesive and the unit to be of good quality and clear picture. No delay and sinc’d easily with my phone. The issues came with the instructions which show the rear view camera plugging directly into the wiring harness, and the harness into the unit. However the harness that came with the unit not the same. The harness has a video connector that plugs into the camera and a neutral wire, and a separate 12v power cable (not mentioned or shown in the instructions) with a connector that presumably connects to your vehicle’s reverse light wire to activate the camera when shifting into reverse. I’ve not yet tried this hypothesis but aim to tear the rear panel apart to try to see if that will get the camera to work. The unit is nice, but don’t buy it for the camera. ... show more

    • Fine for CarPlay, quick boot and connect
This works well for CarPlay. Plug in the power, plug in the audio cable, and it boots up and connects to my phone within 20 seconds. The touchscreen is responsive enough, the audio delay is noticeable though- trying to use it for the audio portion of video calls is annoying but not useless, pausing the audio for music or an audiobook takes 2-3 seconds before the audio stops. But it boots and connects more quickly than other CarPlay displays I’ve tried. The only other issue, and what will keep me looking for a different unit, is that it doesn’t appear to have a way to connect to a different phone. So when I drive the car, it’s fine, but if my wife or son wants to use it there’s no obvious way to get it to connect to a new phone, even when I’ve got my phone in airplane mode with WiFi and Bluetooth off. I also don’t see a way to reset the phone connection so it’ll accept a different phone - once bonded to my phone I guess a full reset of this display will be needed. Unfortunately my car also has power points that are always on, and so I’d also need to wire an accessory relay up to this to turn it off. This is common for the separate display types like this, but may be important for you to know if you don’t have a power outlet that’s already switched with the vehicle on/off. I’ll still use it until I either replace the radio entirely, or find a better CarPlay display, it is very nice to have while driving, but it does have a few issues that’ll prevent me from permanently installing it. ... show more

I selected this stereo system for my daughter as an Easter present. She currently has an older model car that does not have any advance ports for using her iPhone. Installing this stereo was simple and mounts on the dash. I appreciated the audio cords that were included with the stereo. She was able to appropriately sync her iPhone to the stereo and can now access Apple Play. The touch screen works well and is very sensitive and vividly colored with just the right brightness. I think this would be great for anyone with an older vehicle. I gave this three star’s because it is not completely wireless. The camera still needs you to use the RC cables for video. The monitor is nicely sized and has good sound. The installation was straightforward and paired to my phone easily.

It does put my phone on the dash, but I cannot get it to play music. In my current setup, the display shows my phone and I can interact with it that way, but the music plays through my car's existing bluetooth connection. It works fine. I have not had time to set up the backup cam yet, but will update when I do. ... show more
