These r basically glorified fans. They r loud and if u have to run hoses, they are not allowed in apartments. If they require ice or cold water freeze blocks of ice to achieve the cool air u need. Do your research before buying!

I purchased the 12K BTU unit. My initial hook up included the purchase of a hose wrap to insulate the exhaust duct tube. I installed that after configuring the duct path and other variables. The exhaust window adapter was easy to assemble and fit my window with a simple adjustment. there is a small 1/8 linier gap on the top half that I may or may not address. Start up was basic, set temp to 68 and came on immediately. Running, the exhaust tube was 104 bare, with wrap it was 86, which substantially lowered radiant discharge heat. Air temp from unit was a cool 50 degrees. The noise level was acceptable but certainly noticeable, but not annoying and can watch TV. I used the continuous drain tube to collect condensed humidity water into a bucket (advised). My initial take is a 5 star rating based on expectations and description.
