  • Highly recommend. Good price, item works as described. A+
Material Type: Black
This is a very compact and portable magnifying device. The focus is quick and sharp for distance objects. It took a bit longer to get the hang of using it for closer birds. I used it both for sighting at long range and using as a telephoto lens on my iPhone. The iPhone set-up is not hard but takes some time. If I used it more often, I think it would be easier to use. I bought this monocular for a recent trip that involved some animal watching and site seeing on hikes. I ended up using this product more often than the binoculars, especially during hikes, as it easily fit into our backpack and even into my pocket when needed which made it great for the hikes. The clarity and zoom of the product was just as good, if not better than our binoculars and much easier to use. With both adjustment dials, I could clearly hone in on anything we wanted to see. I were complimented on this product multiple times throughout our trip as well as folks rarely see a mono and were surprised at the quality. I even used it for a few photos and the quality came out pretty good after a little bit of setup. Highly recommend. A+ ... show more

  • Worth the money
Material Type: Black
This monocular is a pretty nice piece for the price. Very easy to set up for phone attachment. It can even be put on the phone with the case still on, so that’s very nice. As others have stated though, this is definitely not 80x magnification. I’m not sure exactly how much, but personally, I didn’t need it that powerful to begin with anyway. The tripod and phone attachment are plastic, but they do the trick. (And honestly, what else would you expect for this price?) The monocular itself, however, seems pretty durable and well made. I used this to get some pretty good pics of fighter jets and overall I was quite satisfied with the results. In my pics you can see how it looks through the phone without being zoomed in (the pic with the ring around the edges). The other pics are with my phone zoom set in at various settings. Overall with the phone camera zoom, it did very well! As others have stated as well, for video use it’s definitely best with the tripod. I have pretty stable hands and there was still considerable shake when I tried videoing. For me, it was a good fit for what I was looking for. Would recommend. ... show more

  • Works great!
Material Type: Green
I've been using this for a couple of years now and used it for watching birds and looking at sights while traveling. The quality of this is great, the picture is clear, and it is simple to use. It comes with a convenient carrying bag and caps to protect the lenses, although both caps can be easily lost, so be careful! It also comes with a tripod and an attachment for attaching the monocular to your smartphone and taking photos with, although I never use these. Overall, great product! ... show more

  • 80 x 100? Not Even Remotely Close!
Material Type: Green
The media could not be loaded. To be clear -- no pun intended -- I didn't expect Zeiss optics here, but this thing is pretty bad. You know the old saying "You get what you pay for?" That rings especially true with this supposed "High Quality" monocular. I suppose quality is in the eye of the beholder. As another reviewer mentioned, the ratings are grossly inaccurate. I measured the objective lens with a digital caliper (yeah, I know, even the most basic ruler would have more than sufficed but I'm me), and it is supposedly 100 (that's in millimeters, folks) but as you can see in my photo, it only measures slightly over 41mm. Then there's the ridiculously overstated zoom power of 80. Really? 80?!? Naw, this thing is more like 8x, and that's a stretch. Then there is the optics "quality." Basically, you get a decently clear image in the center, say 1/2 of the field of view. Outside of that, the remaining 1/2 is blurry. Strike 2. I tried to get the cell phone adapter to work with my iPhone 15 Pro Max, but that was an exercise in futility. I could never get any of the 3 cameras to line up and get an image through the monocular lens. Strike 3, aaaaannnd it's going back. If you could get this for around $15, and it was intended for an 8-10 year old kid, it would be alright. Or for something to throw in the glovebox of your side-by-side. Otherwise, don't waste your money. ... show more

  • It's ok
Material Type: Green
Nice gift for anyone interested in nature, but I expected more. I guess thats why the price is what it is. It's not really night vision, and it has like one zoom. You're basically just changing the depth of field like regular binoculars. Also, using it with a phone isn't really beneficial unless your video recording, or taking pictures, but you have to line the viewpoint up with your correct smartphone camera lense. That probably took the longest to do for me until I realized there was a twist nozzle on the viewfinder to loosen it and adjust it. It's a good product, nice size, and weight overall. Definitely easy to carry. ... show more

  • Pretty good, although with a ceveat.
Material Type: Black
For my purposes, mostly watching birds and planes flying overhead, this has been great. Generally speaking, I'm finding it much more convenient than the binoculars that I'd been using in the past. One thing that I'm a bit unsure about is whether the device really does deliver 80x magnification--in fact, I am pretty certain that it cannot. I don't know how "objective lens" gets calculated for this device (if there's something that achieves effect of larger lenses and larger aperture somehow), but it can't possibly have 100mm lens diameter physically. On the other hand, however, I do know that this delivers better magnification than my 10x50 binocular which looks like the specification physically at a fraction of the weight and far greater convenience. I wanted something that was simpler and more convenient than the binocular and I have it at a reasonable price (at least when I bought it), so I'm not going to be too hung up on the particulars since I didn't think 80x magnification was all that plausible to begin with. ... show more
