  • Awesome Stuff!!!
I’ll start by saying that I’m totally impressed with Grizzly grease—this is some really awesome stuff. Since receiving my order, I’ve used it on four of my older model, all metal handguns after separate range sessions. I can tell you that this stuff cleans and lubricates like nothing I’ve used before—and I’ve pretty much tried all CLP products over the years, including my twenty-seven years in the Army. In my opinion, the grease is as economical, easy-to-use, and effective as anything on the market. Before applying it, I use the lowest setting on my heat gun to prep (warm) the metal. I then use lint-free cloths, pipe cleaners, and foam-tipped applicators to apply small amounts of the grease. After cleaning and treating the metal, I am very impressed with how the the grease conditions the metal to resist moisture that hands and fingerprints produce. The product has a minty, wintergreen smell that dissipates a few days after application. Before ordering the product, I read that some users seem to be bothered by the wintergreen smell. Well, it does not bother me at all—I’m a senior citizen; I have a long-standing, intimate relationship with wintergreen alcohol, LOL! I also read that some users complained about the grease ‘flaking’ during application. I haven’t experienced any flaking. At any rate, I think that Grizzly grease does an excellent job of cleaning, lubricating, and conditioning/preserving firearms metal. I haven’t used much of my stock yet, but whenever I deplete it, I won’t hesitate buying it again, if still available on the market. I stand firm in saying that this is some awesome stuff. I highly recommend it!!! ... show more

  • Does what it Claims
Purchased this a month or so ago in anticipation of a scheduled shooting party at a freinds country farm. Prior to going I picked which firearms I would take, and gave them the Grizzly grease treatment. Likewise the magazines. Several months prior on one weapon a .9mm I had FTL, FTE problems with one pistol in particular. After using GG I fired it with no failures at all. Also fired two Springfield 1911's, a Colt .45, an AR15, a Henry .22 and a Ruger SR22. We had about 15 people show up. Each fired the AR and the SR repeatedly with no failures. Firing the AR with thirty round mags, not once having any issues. The bolt and bore of the AR still functioned smoothly after hundreds of rounds. And looked almost as if it hadn't been fired. Having been an Infantry soldier one thing we always did after coming in from the field was clean our weapons and store them DRY. No oil. Something I still do. With GG cleaning and lubricating firearms provides no oil effect. Which in sand clogs the weapon, and in the artic, jams the weapon. The product smells great. It's easy to work with and takes very little to accomplish the task. I'm sold on it. I would definitely recommend it. ... show more

  • Good Lubricant, ok cleaner.
I bought this to use on my work sidearm and rifle. I was worried that it wouldn't hold up for the amount we shoot, but it has held up great after two range days. I am still concerned that it will not perform as well when we hit winter temperatures of -30 to -40, but with those temperatures still a few months away I might have to update my review. Smell: For those that have shot muzzleloaders and are familiar with Bore Butter, this smells identical. I'd venture a guess that since Bore Butter is also non-toxic that these share a vast majority of the similar ingredients. Function: After a few rounds, the grease began to "melt" and start to lubricate the weapon system. It worked well. No jams, no malfunctions of any kind. After shooting, we drove 10 miles back to the station and by the time we got back the lubricants had already begun to solidify again on the weapon system. It kind of reminds me of bacon fat. Heat it just enough and it liquefies and allow it to cool and it becomes a "solid" again. Like I said, I am waiting till winter to test it in the cold before completely replacing my other cleaning and lubricating I would normally do to make sure I don't induce failures with substandard lubricants. If the initial shooting was any indication though, I would guess that it will perform fine. Cleaning: I have used a bunch of cleaning product. Grizzly Grease products are not the best, but they do get the job done. Plus it is nice knowing that lube/grease all over is non-toxic. However, since it mixes with fowling, it really isnt any different safety wise than any other non-food grade cleaner. I think i might stick with Hoppe's #9 and just finish with Grizzly Grease products. ... show more

  • So far so good.
My only experience with this product is on a pair of bolt action rifles I have. One is an old blued rifle and the other is a new Sako stainless. I was attracted to the claims this product made as an all in one product that is non-toxic, so I thought I'd give it a try. I began by degreasing both rifles to get rid of all the old gunk and then carefully applying the grizzly grease to every square inch of bare metal on each one. I used a small artists brush to apply the grease which helped get it into all the and hard to reach places. I then used a hair dryer to heat up the metal which melts the grease and allows it to find its way into nook very nicely. Once I was happy I had achieved full coverage I ran a clean patch over each rifle to soak up any excess residue left over. A year later, and after a cold wet winter, neither rifle shows any sign of rust spotting or corrosion of any kind. This product doesn't leave a greasy feel, so long as you heat up the metal and mop up the excess when you're done. It has a pleasant smell and I don't worry about getting it on my hands. After a session at the range, I used this on a bore snake and it seemed to clean out the barrels just fine. Both bores look squeaky clean. I really like this product and will keep using it as it simplifies my rifle cleaning process. Update 2020: I now have several other rifles, and this stuff is still what I use to clean and lube all of them. There isn’t a single spot of rust on any of them that I can see. I did also purchase the liquid version of this which I sometimes use instead of the paste if it’s cold. ... show more
