Important notes must read before starting the engine.When the engine starts fresh, you need to be careful during the break-in period or the engine will break or seize due to improper use.For the first two tanks, use oil mixture 16 : 1 which is about 8oz of oil per gallon of gasoline, don't go over 20 miles per hour and keep your rides in less than 20 minutes to let the engine cool down. When your engine is cool enough not burning your hand usually about 30 minutes, that's when you can ride again.For the second two tanks, use oil mixture ratio 6oz of oil per gallon of gasoline, follow the same guideline above when riding.After 4 tanks, use oil mixture ration 4oz of oil per gallon of gasoline forever, DON'T go below of this ratio.Above steps to ensure a long life engine for longer rides. I’ve put so many miles on it and have had 0 problems if your thinking about buying this buy it it’s way worth it you just have to have some basic mechanical skills because the instructions aren’t much help. This motor is super fun to ride I have a top speed of 40 miles an hour I have many upgrades on mine though but even compared to stock stock still goes about 25-30mph. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I have put this motor on many different bikes it run great on all of them just as long as it’s got 26”-27” tires and a large frame but not to large. ... show more

So I had to cut apart my bike to install this which wasn't a problem at first because Ive always wanted one of these. Soon after I make the cuts so the carb and spark plug will clear the frame my friend who is putting the same kit on his bike realizes I am missing a spacer. Then after I rebuild my bike frame without the spacer that's supposed to be included it ran for maybe an hour of nothing very aggressive and then it crank bolt backed out ,sheared the woodruff key, and destroyed the gears in the motor case. The kit my friend received was missing bolts and gaskets so we had to make a number of hardware store runs just to get them installed and running and now his doesn't work either. We adjusted the carbs to get them to run well we followed the picture sheet that came with the kit but 2 kits 2 experienced mechanics 5 part store runs and nothing works. Save your money don't buy this I attempted to order a replacement and the box I received was ripped open and the box inside of that looks like it was hit with a hammer a few times and you can see the kit inside is damaged. I have wanted one of these for so long and after purchasing 2 of them I'm left with a destroyed bike, $50 worth of hardware I can't return and no refund for either kit. ... show more

First off, I'm a real person that has not received any compensation or anything for this review. I bought this kit for my son and I to put together on an old mountain bike I had hanging in the garage. I guess I was also satisfying a childhood dream of mine. The kit came complete and of good quality for the price I paid. The instructions were enough to get the motor on and a couple other things, but YouTube has a bunch of videos to help you with anything else. I am mechanically inclined so things I wasn't sure on, I just improvised and made educational guesses. I have a bunch of different hardware leftover, but I believe they give you additional hardware since all bikes are different. My lower frame piece was rather large so I had to finesse (beat with a BFH) to make the larger frame mounting kit fit. Don't worry, you probably won't have to do the same as the larger kit goes pretty big. I had to cut the chain by 4 links. Grind one pin down with a dremel and punch it out if you don't have a chain breaker. Make sure the chain is aligned all the way down and the tensioner is aligned as well. I left about 1/2" of slack. This can be a pretty involved process if you are trying to install this on a bike that isn't the best fit. I put about 3 hours into it, but it could go quicker installing on a cruiser or something with a better fit. Mine runs extremely well and starts right up. It is faster than I thought. It is really quiet as well. The neighbors love it too and one is going to order this kit for his bike. I feel like a kid again. I'd say you would need decent mechanical knowledge to get this together and working, but if you are searching Amazon for motors you can put on a bicycle, you probably won't have a problem. 10/10, would recommend. ... show more

Everything seems to work on the bike other than after I finally got it to start after installing it the part where the chain goes through the motor snapped off. The metal on this motor is very weak and brittle. If I could find out how to contact the seller to get a replacement that would be great

I'm an experienced motorized bike builder. I used this kit to motorize a friend's bike. The motor seemed pretty hardy and has plenty of power stock. It propels my 6 foot, 160 pound friend at a max speed of about 35ish MPH on a 44 tooth sprocket with the exhaust cap removed. This motor has great torque, it gets up and over hills off road no problem. The only complaints I have is that one of the intake manifold bolts snapped on me, luckily I had one that fit just fine. My second complaint is the lack of information on this motor, and the inability to contact the manufacturer for them. There is no info regarding the length of the stroke (I assume 38mm) or true displacement ( I assume 66cc). I tried contacting the company to find out these specs, but I couldn't find a phone number or email to contact them. This kit did come with a warranty, but again I couldn't find a way to contact this company, making me worried about the ability to claim my warranty if anything goes wrong. Overall, 100% is a decent kit if you know what you're doing. This kit could also be great for beginners looking for a reliable engine to beat up and tear up trails with. Just don't plan to modify it unless you have the experience I do, as doing so without knowing the specs of this motor as it makes modifying it quite difficult. This motor performs just fine stock to serve as a daily rider or a trail bike. The only upgrade that is safe to do and that I would recommend is an aftermarket exhaust pipe. Nothing crazy, you can also get away with just removing the stock muffler cap. ... show more

To start out with just saying the speedometer that they send with it has no way to work on it, very confusing instructions ,on the first ride the tenchiner bent over and broke the chane off of it. Not a good experience do not recommend to anyone

I've ordered three of these motors already and put them on three different bikes. I've had no problem with these engines at all... they go on perfect, they line up perfect and they run like a champ.
