  • Great heater
Set name: 3.6GPM|Propane|Ind
I bought this unit to supply hot water in a city bus conversion. It's been fantastic. The volume of water produced is enough for our shower and sink. It's not going to be a whole house unit but I don't think it's designed that way. It has been simple to use since the first day. We're 3 years into use of the bus for seasonal work and it has fired up every time with no issues. ... show more

  • Fairly straightforward install. Heats very fast, easy controls
Set name: 3.6GPM|Propane|Ind
I’m excited this is my first tankless water heater. Was fairly straightforward to install. I had it done since I wasn’t the most experienced with plumbing lines. Got a feeling this propane heater is going to work wonders on my electric bill. Something’s I’ve found so far , system heats really fast but takes the lines about a minute to reach my outlet where I’m using the water shower, kitchen sink etc. once it’s there very hot. Did try reducing flow of water in shower and notice if you slow the gpm to much it does indeed shutdown and water gets cold. I’ve taken fairly long showers for me and water stays constantly hot. So far very happy. This will also keep me from having to use my 220 heater and it’s great for my supplemental/ backup solar which supports only 120v. ... show more

  • I don't even know this was a thing
Home is 3500+sq ft, built in 1960. Previous water heater was typical 40 gallon gas. PROS --easy installation process (husband set up, but I supervised), small, compact and wall mountable for tight spaces, works well --when it turns on, heater makes a light clicking sound, followed by a low rumbling hum that continues until hot water tunes off. (So you know it's working) -continuous hot water supply, water heater quality is great- feels very hot at 125 CONS -Cannot use more than one appliance at time(washing machine/shower/dishwasher) bc the water pressure and temperature will go in and out (would need a water heater with a higher btu) -cost was a bit steep but it is continuous hot water supply so I suppose one could justify it like that. OVERALL I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase. As the replacement of an ancient appliance, the (+)s for this product def outweigh the (-) which there weren't many. We bought this as sort of test to see what it could do or if it was worth it to splurge for the more costly product. But in the end, we ended not upgrading bc we didn't have to. ... show more

  • Better than I expected water heater at a great price.
Set name: 4.3GPM|Propane|Ind
So far working great, and one of the best things about it is that it turns on with minimal flow that my prior heaters of this gpm would not operate at. So we no longer need to have faucets at full blast just to get the heater to turn on. Also like that it had 3/4 sized water connections where as other heaters only do 1/2" size which limits flow especially when using plumbing like pex. The only negative is that it does take about a second longer to actually cut on once it detects flow compared to other heaters I have had, just makes it a bit longer to wait for hot water to start coming out. Otherwise, seems like a high quality heater, hopefully it will last without throwing error codes like I have had with these style heaters in the past. Keep in mind, these style of water heater do not need to mix with cold water like a traditional heater. You want to set the temperature to the hottest setting that you need out of the tap without mixing with cold water. then use the cold water to adjust down as needed. You do NOT need to set it to some high temp to then mix with cold water like you normally do with a tank in order to not run out of cold water in the shower. these are on demand so you will never run out. I see alot of reviews saying it cuts off when they mix it with cold water. likely they are having the temp up too high and mixing too much cold water with it causing the flow to drop down too much and causing it to cut off. this will happen with ANY of these tankless style water heaters. Especially in an RV where flow is often lower to begin with. ... show more

  • It does not work as described...at all...whatsoever and no customer support.
Set name: 4.3GPM|Propane|Ind
Customer service seemed great until they stopped communicating and punted the issue to Amazon. The hot water heater, specifically, the indoor propane tankless heater, stopped working inside of 90 days. At first at first customer service seem genuinely concerned and said that a replacement would be issued. After several days of going back-and-forth I began to be suspicious it started to pin down their customer service representative to give me details on shipment. The customer service rep stated that they had no visibility on shipping documents or tracking numbers. And then the following day I get a message from their customer service rep putting this issue to Amazon stating that sits Amazon fulfilled the original order Amazon would have to fulfill the second order. Assuming that Amazon was notified of the issue I was looking for shipment information from Amazon which does not exist. Do not buy this junk it is worthless. This is the first bad experience I have ever had with a product from Amazon for as long as I have been shopping Amazon (8 years??). Essentially there is a temperature probe that must be bad because it hets the water for about 10 seconds and then errors out with a Code 8 which is a blockage in the squirrel cage or duct. Checked and Checked again multiple times and nothing blocking the exhaust...I could go on and on about how crappy this product is but for the sake of time, DO NOT WASTE YOU HARD EARNED MONEY. ... show more

  • Works at or above spec given my setup
Set name: 3.6GPM|Natural Gas|Ind
I bought this awhile ago but just installed it. I’ve only got a 1/2” gas line running about 90 feet from the meter @ just under .26 psi and the 80K BTU unit can handle 2 fixtures continuously which is 3.5 gpm. I’m in the yellow zone so it’s working at or slightly above the stated spec which is great. I’ve also got it set to 118 degrees which is above the factory setting of 107. If I try a 3rd fixture it still works but it drops the water temp to accommodate —it doesn’t shut down which is nice. It was easy to install as I had all the connections there and the integrated cord meant I didn’t have to wire a cord to it. Gas is tricky so unless you’ve got all your numbers and calcs done, it’s easy to be disappointed with the performance. All the numbers I quoted above are very important before trying a tankless and the reason I didn’t go with a lager unit. Be aware. So far so good now let’s see if it lasts. ... show more

  • Too many expensive parts
Set name: 3.6GPM|Propane|Ind
1. It doesn’t come with any lines n cost is about 250.00 in parts. Gas lines, Water lines, and the exhaust alone was over 100.00 ! 2. The other problem is that when you turn the cold water on the hot water turns cold. The propane quits in the middle of running the hot water. We had to turn it all the way up to 149 degrees n it still doesn’t stay hit all the time. We are in an RV n they mess with the water flow, up n down n up n down, And at times we are all using it, the water pressure goes down. And because it doesn’t always do this, it could be because of the pressure, i’m not sure. But it happens too often n in the shower it’s horrible having to shut it off n turn ut on to try n get it going in the middle of a shower. It’s hard to get a good steady warm temperature n turning it up all the way is a must for us. It’s still character than the RV one on etrailer but km thinking i should have saved n got s good one instead. On the flip side, having to shut the shower off n on …it was still nice to have a warm shower without having to use jugs or use the outdoors shower. it warmed up the RV! If you can afford a better one, i think i would. …or if you have a good flow of water, then it may be ok. I’m not sure. It took almost a month to get the right parts to hook it up. It wasn’t easy. It was a special store that had them. None of the box stores had the parts , not even Ace. It should have come with at-least all the propane gas lines. If i would have known, i would not have bought this. ... show more

  • So far so good. Gets nice and hot So far so good. Gets nice and hot
Set name: 4.3GPM|Propane|Ind
I’m in NC. This unit replaced a 23 year old 40 gallon tank. It took me about 2.5 hours to install including installing a new GFCI outlet and PEX, so not bad. Make sure you buy a vent kit and code requires that a GFCI outlet be used for it. Use good Teflon tape (I used blue monster) and make sure to check the gas connections for leaks using a spray of soapy water. The only negative is that it takes about 2 minutes for the water to reach the shower to get up to full temperature. That’s pretty standard for tankless water heaters, though so I knew that going in having had one at another house. I have the temp set to 109F so not super hot but comfortable. ... show more
