It is a little stiff. Lubricate with some spray lube to make it work better, like 90% better. Then be careful not to bruise a thumb when collapsing. No multi-tasking when you are collapsing it.

This ladder works great for our Class C RV. It is smaller enough to store in our of our outside storage compartments but when a ladder is needed it makes into a nice size ladder.

    • Cannot return. Bottom step too tall, does not lock in collapsed position.

The rungs do not lock into collapsed position. It is unclear from the description, but the velcro strap is the _only_ thing holding it in the collapsed position, so if you ever lost that strap, you couldn't carry it folded up. The distance between the first rung and the next one is huge; far higher than any other ladder I've ever used, and this makes it hard to use if you are not a really tall person. One hook locks into place nicely, and the other rotates in the socket, making it harder to position. If you return it, then the cost is completely out of your pocket. Needed a ladder and choose the 20ft. Works great. Has a little bounce it you have extended high. I always had some one hold the base if I could not hook the ladder on something. Easy to collapse and strap to keep all together when moving. Would not use for everyday construction use but works great for my needs. ... show more

Solid ladder, very handy. Works well, but is very hard to maneuver as it is quite heavy. If you aren't real strong or are a bit older, you really would need someone to help you move it around
