This thing is only 5000 BTU, it's a lie. It is definitely not 8000 BTU. Only the advertisement for the product says 8000, when you get the box beside the box says 5000 and the thing is tiny. It looks like a children's toy like a Playskool portable AC...this thing couldn't cool a phone booth.

I bought this to compliment my central air, as it didn't cool off my bedroom. This unit does the job well, only downside is the exhaust tube is a bit large. Maybe it has to be to function correctly. Also, there is no auto on/off feature that i can see. Its either always on, or always off. I would still recommend this unit for it's cooling capability, while not breaking the bank. ... show more

Received an email which linked me to their site (pretty much useless). Can't find an exact replacement, so ordered the larger adapter and hope I can wing it. I like it because I didn’t have one an ac it’s good for the price I paid but I live in a trailer house with old metal windows and the window cover doesn’t quite fit maybe I can cut it with a grinder the hose seems big but this is the first one I’ve bought to be portable it’s built ok but I wish the drain part wasn’t on the bottom Took little time to put it together had a little difficulty fitting the pipe into the machine that what she said but like before you get what you paid for and it works well sometimes it doesn’t blow cold for the first couple minutes I just shoved the entire plastic end out the window cuz it kept falling out put my curtain back ... show more
