Using this for PTA safe in the main school office. We needed to allow PTA members to be able to drop off money, but only officers (multiple) to be able to access safe. Having a code works for that. EDIT 2015-10-19: After 3 months of use, the solenoid (the metal 'locking' part on the inside of the safe) broke. After a few days of back-and-forth with support via email (they were VERY quick to respond, even after hours/weekends), they said I needed to send it back for repair. I did so and after a week they sent back the working part and we seem to be up and running again. Disappointing that something so important would break so quickly, and also that they didn't have advance replacement so I couldn't' get the part quicker, which meant our safe was 'unlocked' for a week or so. ... show more

DO NOT BUY!!!! Cheap handle that turn the bars to unlock the safe broke after only two months of use. I contacted the manufacturer who made me go and get a letter notarized before they would send me instructions on how to drill into the safe. They sent the wrong directions and I had to hire a locksmith to do the drilling which was in a completely different area than were I was instructed to drill. Once he got it opened he showed me how cheap the interior locking hardware is and how a simple nut wasn't put n properly causing the handle to not turn. It's only a matter of time before this happens to you. It cost me $156.00 to get the safe opened which is more than what I paid for it in the first place. They will not refund me, but want to send me another piece of junk as a replacement. No thanks! I don't need to call the locksmith again in two more months.     • Can't be beat for the price
First off, this is not a safe to put your most valuable things in. If you are looking for maximum security and fire protection, look elsewhere. I would call this a strong box more than a safe. Anyone with a little savvy and enough time could get into it fairly easily. That being said, this is the perfect safe for small businesses where daily deposits are dropped and then collected every few days to bring to the bank. I have one of these in each of my three retail store locations and they have performed flawlessly for over a year now. The backup key is a nice feature too in case of an electronic malfunction. The keypad and dial assembly are made of plastic but they are durable and work flawlessly. ... show more

    • Great Safe For The Price
I needed a safe that had a drop slot for cash and deposits, and I can absolutely say that this safe was perfect for the job. The safe is relatively heavy and seems sturdy. I have no problems locking or unlocking it, and the key backup for the safe is a solid idea. My only complaint with it is that the batteries are located on a panel in front of the safe. I would feel better about it if this were located inside the safe, but that's just me. Still, this safe does everything I want it to do, and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Oh, and having an option to shut off the sound the buttons make when you push them would be nice as well. Update: The safe decided that it didn't want to open today. I changed the batteries and it opened up just fine, but when I tried to use the backup key to open the safe I was unsuccessful. No reason why the key decided not to turn, it just decided not to work. Paragon's customer service to this point has been very helpful, they are going to tell me whats going on once I send them some information. ... show more

I lost the over-ride key and the code is jammed. It has taken me some time but finally found the proper web site for assistance. It is Teamcustomerservice.com The safe company is listed there. I hope I am able to get a new key.

    • Huge P.O.S!! Can't contact builder.
1 star is to many! WHAT A P.O.S.... DO NOT BUY! I bought for my wife's shop and she had it 3 months when it fell apart! The lock and.key pad don't work, and the bolts are busted off on the hinges. Cant righten because they are all rounded from an impact used on a soft material and over torque. I looked for a way to return to the manufacturer, warranty but no info is given here or in the manual.. You can download and see for yourself. I'll try to update with pictures tomorrow. ... show more

    • Poorly Built
After only a few months use the door hinges have worked loose and fallen out causing the door to fall off. Luckily I found all the parts to repair it. The lock mechanism seems really cheap, I was leery of locking it the first time because I was afraid it wouldn't work again. It didn't really cost much so, I can't complain a lot. It seems to be working which is what we wanted although, I might shop around more next time. If you're not going to be opening a safe very often then this might be fine for your needs. If you are just double check the door hinges for tightness, if you lose the hinges you're in trouble. I wouldn't recommend this safe, there has to be better options. ... show more
