I had many problems with this purchase. One, the product is not good quality and very difficult to assemble. I bought two shelves, which came in two boxes. When I attempted to return the product, they only sent one return label. When I tried to return the item by FedEx, I was informed that I would need another return label to ship back the 2nd, which was not provided by seller. I still sent one shelf back and then contacted Amazon by chat about the shipping issue. I was assured by chat that another label would be sent. It has been two months since I purchased this product. I still have not been sent the 2nd label and I have not been refunded for the one shelf that I returned. I would avoid this product completely. Not worth it.

The shelving unit appears to be strong and well made. I am using it for extra household items and things I needed to put away seasonally. If it holds up over time it certainly will be worth the money. It went together easily (one person put it together with a little support from a 2nd person). The worst part of putting it together was the Styrofoam packing that caused a bit of a mess. That's a pretty minimal complaint and borders on sarcasm. I read the comments before I purchased this and I agree with the positive ratings and descriptions of the product.

I was very disappointed with this shelf. There is very little structural integrity. When I say this is junk, im being very kind. The side rails are in 2 parts and are held together by a 1/4 inch plastic clip, which means your rails need to be placed at the seam of where the rails meet and thats ALL that holds the top and bottom portion together. This shelf is very flimsy and wants to twist because the rails feel like they are made of very weak aluminum. Two of the rails arrived bent, others arrived dented or had to be manipulated because they had a twist in them. This is not steel at all and in regard to "adjustable", you have very little options to adjust. Stay away from this product. There has to be much better products out there, I'm really not sure how this product had an average of anything over 2 stars.

Man, if you only ever listen to one piece of advice on the internet, let it be this advice: stay away from this piece of absolute garbage. I'm pretty sure if I layered and pressed together like 10 pieces of aluminum foil, this thing would rival its' flimsiness. It gets 2 stars because it actually makes a shelf, so I guess that earns one more star. For those who are brave enough to make this thing the full 5 shelves high, tell me, how can I be half the man you are someday? In all seriousness, I would NOT buy this thing if I were you. It's well past the return window for me, so be sure to pour some out for my wasted money.

In theory, the design of this shelf unit looked to be a snap to construct, with the only tool required being the plastic hammer that comes with it, no screws, nuts or brackets. In execution it turned out to be like wrestling an octopus and necessitating a helper to hold everything in place. The shelf support beams are inserted into the columns with two nubs that insert into pre-drilled holes in the columns. Many times the two nubs wouldn't align with the column holes; one would but the other wouldn't, necessitating some bending and manipulation with a screwdriver or pliers to make them fit. On several occasions, lower support beams would detach, requiring reattachment, making me wonder if screws and nuts would have been easier after all. The plastic inserts would often fall out, due to loose fit. BUT, after all that, once it was finally constructed, it ended up being a sturdy and stable shelf system. So 5 stars minus two for the construction.
