I spent the day a few days ago sorting my different embroidery threads by brands, weight, plain or variegated, polyester or cotton, etc. It was an enjoyable job as I love colors and it was exciting to see all he different combos of variegation threads that I have and will be good for so many ways to up the power of machine embroidery. There are many spools that would be wonderful for animal plets or coats, all sorts of greens for plants and of course, so many different flowers in so many colors. I have a dress that I need to repair the sleeves that has light orange, pink and salmon color and I wanted a thread that wouldn't stand out when the repair was done. As the fabric itself is in a way variegated, then using thread with those colors in it will make the thread not stand out at all. As I have some fabric with similar colors, I love knowing that I have several spools I can use to make machine embroidered flowers that match the fabric. I am very happy with this set of threads. It was a good value and I am happy to have it. I am looking forward to doing a lot of sewing using these threads.

First, let me state that I worked in the fashion industry for many years having graduated from Design school. In my experience, one of the key elements of a successful production run is the ability to get the job done quickly and cost effectively. Now that I am sewing just for pleasure, I still find myself seeking the ability to satisfy my 'cost effective' conditioning! Prior to purchasing this set I read all the reviews and was truthfully a little surprised by number of ratings. Performance under pressure: I wanted to provide a balanced review of this product so I threaded up both my embroidery machines - a Pfaff Creative Performance and a Brother PE-770. The thread works perfectly with normal breakages (all threads break even industrial ones). I ran the thread at about 1000 spm and at about 600 spm to see how it would perform. Everything was fine. Just remember to use your thread caps if you are running a Brother machine. The small cap tip inserts nicely into the small end of the cone to preventing the thread from tangling. Alternately multi-thread holders work perfectly as do cone holders or just leave the thread on the table(my preferred method) Regarding the spools. They are cheaper plastic but to me this was an advantage as I took a small pair of craft scissors and made my own notches at the bottom of the spools - where it suited me most to keep the thread from unraveling. Selection of colors: I use my threads to embroider garments and to do thread art for quilting. I happen to love the subtle shadings. It is true that Mother Nature can be stunning in her expressions and there are some very contrasting threads here for that. But it also contains lovely subtle colors that can beautifully reflect petals of a flower, leaves, water, shadow, tree bark and earth and the slight variations on colors for hair and fur on embroidered animals (I made a cute little mouse). I am completely satisfied with the color range and plan to use some of the more fun, starkly contrasting cones for lettering and children's wear (my kids love bright fun colors!) All in all a great purchase and bearing in mind that variegated embroidery threads run around $5 per spool at the fabric shop near my home this is a great bargain. I will definitely order again. The shipping was fast and the product is easy to recommend to fellow sewers

I had purchased the 260 spools of embroidery thread set recently and really liked it so thought I'd add the variegated colors to my collection. Some of the color variegations are subtle, others more pronounced. For me it's perfect for my projects. I like having the variety at my finger tips. I no longer have to run to the thread store to buy this color or that color. I have just about every color needed. The breakage is minimal and sometimes I'm sure the breakage is due to my error. I like the sheen of this project and I've not noticed more lint than the very expensive threads. This is a great value for your money. Sometimes it can be difficult to find the starting thread but I've learned to spot it and am able to pull it loose. A minor problem for the price. Each spool comes individually wrapped.

There are so many variations to choose from. I will have make time to practice with them all. Unlike one reviewer, my collection did not have a lot of white. Here is my list of colors as I see them. Others may see different colors or have received a different mix. I do not know how they will look when they are actually stitched out, but the list gives you a good idea of what to expect. Excellent quality thread. I have been using these in my Futura XL 400 with very little issues. So far out of all of the spools I only had one that seemed to give the machine trouble. The variegated color combinations are beautiful.. I have used them in both applique and FSL projects and LOVE them! Will definitely be buying again!

I ordered this set of threads based on the one picture they provided. I could not really zoom in close enough to see the colors as well as I would have liked. The one thing you don't know, from the picture, is the length of each color section. This would be good information for embroidery users who need to know the rate of repeat and how it will affect their design. The color combinations I most wanted were not in this group, and some of the colors have such a subtle change they don't look variegated at all. I don't mean to sound negative, these are fun threads to use, and a great value. Just would like more information on the site.
