  • Bigger than most, but these pods work well.
Size: 80PCS-Cuboid
I like these because they can be stuffed into any shape 1" basket. They work with round and square baskets.

  • Doesn’t Seem To Fill the Bottom of Aerogarden Like Cages in Hydroponic Kits.
Size: 70PCS-Cylinder
I was so excited to try these pods! I am new to hydroponics and have a countertop system (which i love!) similar to Aerogarden. Starting tomatoes is unbelievably easy! Greens are a breeze! So, I bought these pods to use in that set, but I doubt these pods will actually work well. They don’t actually fill the bottom of the cage. I have shown a typical sponge on the right and the Hapxalie pods on the left. The bottom half of the cage with the Hapxalie pod is empty. I will actually try these pods in my hydroponic setup, and update. ... show more

  • A MUST HAVE for regular gardening
Size: 70PCS-Cylinder
I’m using these in a seedling tray for outdoor planting. I’ve tried growing plants from seeds and have never been successful until these things came out on the market. All of my seedlings would become moldy and end up dying and I would be lucky if I had one plant survive. This is my third round of using grow sponges and couldn’t be happier with the result! All of the seeds I planted grew. Once they were established enough I transplanted them into small pots with soil, and all but one of them survived. I initially only wanted four tomato plants, but kept six and gave another six tomato plants away to my neighbors. The petunias I planted are completely different than the store bought ones, they are tall and have so many blooms on them, I’m just floored! I don’t think any of them would grow because the seeds were so small, but I have a whole flat of them! So many that I’m in the process of redoing my flower beds to be able to incorporate all of them. I’m never going to buy plants again and intend on just growing everything from seed. If you are on the shelf about growing sponges don’t be, they are amazing! I totally recommend these and have given up my seedling mix! Side Note: All of the tomato plants I grew were from the seeds that I saved from tomatoes from over 5 years ago. The ‘Cherry 100’ seeds are well over 10 yrs old. I tried looking for those seeds in the stores, (thinking the ones I had probably wouldn’t grow because of their age), but couldn’t find them anywhere and just went for it with what I had. If you can find them they are the best tasting cherry tomatoes you’ll ever come across, and the amount the plant makes is unbelievable! ... show more

  • Perfect in a small tower setup
Size: 70PCS-Cylinder
I have a DIY tower setup, so these fit perfectly in the side PVC pipes, and are a nice alternative to my usual rockwool when I want something a little sturdier for the root system. See the pic with the quarter for a sense of scale (remember they expand after getting wet, too).

  • They Work Fine, But There Are Better Options
Size: 80PCS-Cuboid
I usually start my seeds in large 1020 seedling trays using grow sponges like these. I used to use them strictly for hydroponics, but I have since found that they provide great results for all kinds of plants, including the ones that will be planted in soil. Soilless seed starting mix is certainly more economical and, in some instances (e.g. onions, radishes, etc.) the better choice, but they can also harbor bugs and don't have the same consistent germination rate as grow sponges. These grow sponges arrive quite dry and require a soak to rehydrate. Once soaked, they (more or less) expand to the same shape as the standard, popular brand sponges that I am used to using. What I don't seem to understand is the underlying value in these sponges over the other, more recognizable brands. The price simply is not competitive compared to the name brand stuff. Furthermore, other brands usually come pre-soaked, saving you time and effort. These work fine, but I unfortunately cannot recommend them solely based on an unfavorable bang-for-your-buck calculation. ... show more

  • Works as stated!
Size: 80PCS-Cuboid
So I am experimenting with a few different ways to start my seeds and I came across these and I figured I’d give them a try. -They come in well packaged and in great shape. -They do require soaking before use, which is not a big deal, you can’t just jump in. -They are a lot less messy than traditional seed starting soil. -So far they seem to absorb and hold the water very well. -I can’t really say if they work any better than other sponge starters as I am getting the same growth rate out of a few different types. So overall there may be cheaper options out there but these do work as intended pretty well. ... show more
