For the price I was real happy with this safe. It's good for a everyday place to lock up firearms and ammo. It seems to be secure, it's not super heavy duty, but it won't be easy to get into to keep children out of. I have it bolted to the wall, it would take time for someone to break into it and they would have to know what they are doing. I would rate it as a medium duty safe and would recommend its use.

Same construction as a 2 drawer filing cabinet with a more secure door. Cetainly won't keep a determined theif out but it will keep private items from the kids, the house sitter, baby sitter etc. I bolted it to the floor with the two predrilled holes which made it quite a bit more secure. We got the 6 sq. ft. size and it's a good size for our needs. Description clearly states it's not fire or waterproof so if that's what you're looking for, keep looking. Not a bad setup but it's not Fort Knox either. Just so you know what to expect.

Locking mechanism is kinda chinstrap & sloppy, doesn’t seem very secure. You get what you pay for, so I didn’t expect it to be like Fort Knox. I do like the added water/fire safe money bag that came with it…
