I just got a new computer from work. I like to have extra cords because I go between 2 places in my house to use my computer and its a pain to unplug the cord. So I like to just keep a cord plugged in to each location. This works just as well as the cord that came with the computer. My home HP laptop is older and takes an older cord - not a USB. For the price this is a great charger. My only complaint is that the build quality feels pretty cheap - personally I'll use this as a permanent desk charger, as I don't know how well it would hold up to repeated travel and storage in a bag. But for the price it's easy to replace when needed.

I bought this for an HP EliteBook laptop, and it works great for that. No more lugging a power supply home from work with me! Then I tried it on some Dell laptops we had at home. It works great on those too. All of them recognize it at full power. Of course, I had to try it on a few Android cell phones, too. It charges those rapidly. It is charging a nearly empty laptop now and doing it pretty quickly. The brick part is warm but not hot.
