    • Instructions are entirely in Chinese.
While assembly of the motor is not hard, the instructions (assembly and operations) are entirely in Chinese. The most important failure in this regard was the attachment of the propeller to the shaft. So... I don't know if I got it right or if the prop is going to fall off one of these times. If you're going to sell something in the united states, there ought to be English instructions. That, alone makes me regret the purchase. Functionally, the motor works well. It has 5 forward speeds and 5th really makes the boat go. One drawback is the amount of current the motor draws. It is a lot and you have to be careful because the wiring and the controls inside the motor housing easily overheat. You don't want to troll at more than the second (of 5) forward speed & you don't want to use a higher speed for very long. ... show more

    • Lightweight yet powerful!
I gave up on that fuel-guzzling engine and switched to this electric motor. After receiving the package, my concerns proved to be unfounded. It has plenty of power and is more than capable of propelling a small fishing boat! It has a sturdy construction, simple throttle control, and clear gear indicators. It runs very quietly in the water, allowing me to chat or enjoy nature. This is an excellent electric motor, and I will definitely buy it again! ... show more
