I am a strong proponent of emergency preparedness. Although it does not take a lot of money, it does take some thought. I try and get something every week or so. By getting things overtime, there does not need to be a big financial layout. There are lots of lists on the internet of supplies to collect for possible emergencies and string and rope are on many of those lists. Anyway, a few months ago I bought some twine on the internet. I purchased two different sizes from two different companies. I was shocked when I received the twine. Both spools were about the size of a spool of thread. It was ridiculous. I was looking for something more rope-like. Nothing in the information on those twines really gave me a clue about the size of what I was getting. Yes, it had the length, but that does not tell you much. I mean, the thread I buy for quilting comes on spools shorter than 3” and hold over 1,400 yards of thread. I often take pictures of items with something we can relate to. That is why there is a quarter in the pictures of the twine so you can decide if this is what you are looking for. BTW, I did decide to not open the plastic around the twine since it will stay together better in its’ original wrapping. I am very happy with this twine and think you will be too.

Several decades ago, I was doing macrame every spare moment that I had...plant hangers, a wine rack, lamp shade, Christmas decorations and even a set of decorations for our front door. I loved it...and then the fad ran out and I moved on to cross-stitch. I am delighted that although not as popular as it was in the 1970-1980's, macrame has made a comeback! I still have my patterns and am eager to refresh my memory as to the knots. The patterns haven't changed that much; I guess there are just so many ways to tie knots. This skein contains 656ft of jute which is enough for most plant hangers and perhaps even a smaller "wall hanging." This skein is narrower in diameter than much of what I used previously but I do have patterns that will accommodate 2mm diameters. I have found polyester cording that would also work in big box stores, however, my recollection is that plants can get heavy and polyester knots ultimately loosen and sag. Jute does not do that, thus, this skein of 2mm jute is perfect for my needs. It also is a brown neutral color which is also making a comeback and coordinates well with the greenery of plants in most homes. The jute feels just like the jute of old; somewhat scratchy on the hand, holds its shape well and knots can be tied tightly without slipping. And if I find that macrame is no longer my thing, I can always use this skein to decorate packages or tie up my tomato plants. Great product for a great price!

I don't know what y'all are looking at twine rope for but I need it to hang fake pumpkins from a tree, primarily. To that end; I think I will have this butt of twine for the rest of my natural life, there's that much of it! It's hardy, rough rope. Several smaller strands twisted together. The beginning of the line has unravelled quite a bit but it's not something I'm too concerned with. For what it is, it's okay I guess, though I certainly am no rope expert. I wouldn't look at this twine as a substitute for actual thick rope for mooring boats but you could probably get creative and use this on a lot of stuff. I couldn't per se, find anything WRONG with it and it is as described so I gave it 5 stars.

I've had some really trashy quality jute twine. This is NOT that. It's also hard to classify this as twine. I'd call it a thin jute rope instead. It's way beefier than I expected. This jute doesn't stink. And it doesn't have random pieces of rough material twisted into it. It would be fantastic for crafts or wrapping cat scratching poles, etc. But it's way too nice (and way too thick) for my intended purpose -- tying up bundles of flattened cardboard for recycling. I'm sure I'll eventually find the right use for this jute, though, even if I have to take up a new hobby to do it.

This bundle of twine string is very useful for a variety of tie tasks, including brading other line and packaging, stringing things up etc. It's relatively strong. Like most jute, it has a bit of an off gas that goes away with time. One thing to note: The bundle comes without any kind of core. It's just twine with the core removed, probably to save cost. So the first thing to do is to slide it on to a dowel of some sort so you don't end up with a tangled mess.

This is one of those products that is in the category of "can't fail" - it's twine. I wish I had it earlier in the season. I had some twine from different projects that I kept recycling and which frays and falls apart. It's a habit a lot of people get into without thinking about it. For my garden it was a small investment and something I can't imagine using up even after a few seasons. Totally worth it.
