I replaced the original carburetor on my old Sears Craftsman 9HP snow thrower with this one. The installation of the carburetor was straight forward, and the engine started right up and runs excellent. No adjustments to the carburetor needed. I do agree with several reviewers that the included fuel line was a bit short. I purchased the new fuel line separately. I did like the fact that the packaged included a new vacuum line, a fuel shutoff, and fuel filter neither of which I had on the original. The price was just slightly more than the cost of a Tecumseh carb rebuild kit and without the mess of cleaning and repairing the old carburetor. I would definitely recommend this item to others. This is a high quality carburetor, Exact match replacement for my Troy Bilt Storm 8hp. This kit contains everything you will need. Only thing I would recommend is better spring hose clamps, the little wire clamps that are provided are junk and nearly impossible to work with. I re-used my original clamps. I would re-buy this kit if ever needed. Update: The engine runs like a champ and the idle is great. Kit is well worth the price ... show more

I purchased the carburetor at a very good price and it only took less than 30 minutes to install. It took two pulls and fired up immediately .     • Cheap carburetor nice quality
I had a really old carburetor, so I was a bit skeptical this would fit my 20+ year old Snapper 10/30 snowblower, but it fit perfectly. Everything you see in the picture came with the Carb. The initial mounting was very easy and straight forward. After I had the whole carb bolted in, I tried the run the blower and no gas was flowing. I unbolted the carburetor and took the float bowl off and found that the needle valve was stuck to the valve seat thus not allowing fuel to flow into the float chamber. Using a pliers and unstuck the valve and reinstalled the carburetor. The machine ran fairly well with the new carburetor. I had to remove some mounting hardware from my old carb and install it on the new carb. I would have given this carburetor at least four stars, but since I had to work on the brand new carb before the machine even ran, I thought I would downplay my rating. I was a little annoyed that I had to take the brand new carburetor apart and repair it. New is New in my opinion. ... show more

I was skeptical about the quality and fit but bought this carburetor after reading many reviews. I am pleasently surprised. After installing the carburetor, and before putting on the choke hardware I wanted to start the snowblower, just to see if it would work. It started up and honestly, hasn't run this well in a couple of years. To complete the install you need to reuse the choke mechanism and bracket for the cover from the old carb and put them on the new one. I thought this might be where I ran into trouble, but everything lined up and I completed the installation. No problems. ... show more

    • Had to open up the jets to stop the surging, but works now.
Installed on my 2000 10HP Yard Machine snowblower, it surged badly at any speed after this install. Then I removed the main jet and used a .033 micro drill to open up the jet. Almost opened the idle jet slightly. Now it runs great with no surging.
