I have a very expensive Fluke at work that was recently calibrated by Fluke and this affordable multimeter got exactly the same measurements as the Fluke and I am spot on so I am extremely happy. I bought this multimeter because is one of the very last multimeters with an internal potentiometer to calibrate the measurements if you have something precise to compare (like a calibrated Fluke) but I didn't need to do anything and was obviously well calibrated at the factory. A couple of minor things that I do not like at all: 1) The case is super tight and small, almost impossible to close the case with all the accessories and leads inside. 2) The backlight: I really prefer a button to decide when to turn on the backlight. The sensor is not very sensitive and you have to be almost in total dark before the backlight turns on. Other than that I love this affordable and super accurate multimeter.

I was initially impressed that this came complete with a small screwdriver to install the batteries. However, one of the supplied AA batteries had leaked prior to purchase, leaving powdery white residue. Eww.

This meter is as good as much more expensive meters. The price is a real deal. If you are a Fluke fanatic why are you looking at this meter ? It is well worth the money at twice the price. Buy this if you need a good meter and don't want to take a loan to buy one !!

I spent a lot of time examining the various multimeters (and there are a LOT) on Amazon. I wanted the Hz and NCV functions (in addition to volts, etc.) at a budget price and this seemed to meet the requirements. I received the unit and installed the battery using the handy supplied screwdriver. Then turning the multimeter on, all digits of the screen flashed on and then all digits blinked about once a second and a soft "click" sound was heard. I turned it off and tried again. Same result. This is regardless of the position of the function selection dial or range. I turned it off and removed the battery.... waited and reconnected the battery. Turned the unit on -- same result. This is all despite the lovely color hologram sticker on the back, "QC Passed". One other comment: The "rubber" casing surrounding the multimeter is really pretty firm. MUCH harder than other multimeters I own. Not sure how much shock it would actually absorb. I am returning the unit for a refund. Back to looking at alternatives.
