The media could not be loaded. I used it on my four person tender boat. It performs great, low battery consumption, no noise, and as lightweight as my older 30lbs Minnkota. Speed 2 was a smooth cruising speed and after 2 hrs of navigating around the lake it had only consumed 10% of the battery. Would recommend. ... show more

This motor exceeded my expectations, and I'm super happy with it. I'm using it on a 14' Lund decked aluminum fishing boat, which we (my wife and friends) use just for putting around. The boat is a little heavy, especially with 3 or 4 adults, and I was running 1 - 55# thrust trolling motor from Newport vessels, which was maxed out if it was windy or choppy. I added this motor, running with 2 lifepo batteries at 24 volts, and was at level 4 with the combination of the two motors (running the 55 lb thrust at 5 and the 86 lb thrust at 4) and the boat just cruises with 4 adults, wind whatever, it is a strong runner now. So, yeah - for slow trolling, might be a little too much for a 12' light boat - but for cruising around at about 5 mph, works excellent in conjunction with a 55 lb thrust motor. So nice and quiet too. Love it! Strong motor! If you bought 2 of these motors, and 4 lifepo batteries (12 volt each in series) you would have a nice electric motor setup for probably under 1k. Update 5/22/25 Bought a 2nd exact same motor since 1st was so nice, and so I'd 2 matching on the back of a v-hull jon boat. It runs smooth and quiet too, so far so good. You can get away with just one of these 24v 86 lb thrust motors. But if it is super windy, or you want to run on a lower setting, having 2 matching is real nice. And they are super quiet compared to an outboard. I haven't gps'd speed, but would guess around 5 mph on setting 4 with both motors running, on a 14' lund decked aluminum fishing boat with 3 heavy people onboard, and wind and a binimi top up. Note that the motors are about 22 lbs each, and require 24 volt batteries each. So, that is 4 lipo batteries and 40 lbs of motor. Each item weights about 20 lbs roughly so 120 lbs in the back of the boat, which is about the same as a 30 hp outboard (but you only need to lift 20 lbs, and they are super quiet). If I'm trying to get somewhere, I'll put a 15 or 20 hp outboard on the back, and use one electric motor for trolling around. ... show more

Originally got the most powerful one available, please be aware that this is a 24V model. they don't mention that anywhere in the listing. I got it an when opened that was the first thing I noticed when I opened the box was it said 24volts right on the top. I ended up going a couple steps down and got the 55 LBS of thrust model. Heavier than i had expected but it delivers. I have it on a rubber raft attached to a transient that I was able to mount to the raft. when kicked into the top gear 5TH, it really scoots along. the only thing that I have to complain about is that when you are down shifting from a higher gear, i.e. from 3rd to 2nd, the is a momentary "burst" of power that kicks the motor into a higher output. Kind of scary until you get used to it. I have taken it out on the lake 3 Xs now and the last time this phenomena seems to have dissipated. Hopefully it was just a momentary issue that has worked itself out now. Guess I'll find out on the next trip. the only reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is 1. the lack of correct representation about the 86lbs modem, not mentioning that it is actually a 24v model (return was easy enough but a pain in the butt) and the momentary bursts of power mentioned previously when down shifting. other than that it has been great thus far. I’ve used it on our John boat and pontoon and it works great. Goes pretty quick and it’s easy to steer. Will update if there’s ever an issue. So far it’s been well worth the price!
