Quality wood, no complaints. Definitely measure your blanks before assuming their dimensions. These are actually closer to 11.875 x 11.875 rather than a true 12x12. Having dealt in traditional lumber in the past, I was assuming that there would be some discrepancy like this, but when the first batch of blanks i ordered that were bass wood turned out to be a true 12x12, needless to say I was surprised when these came in and were not the same. Not sure if that is a feature of the manufacturer or just the wood species, but regardless, it was enough to teach me to measure anything I purchase before blindly using it. If you're using these for laser engraving, and specifically if you are new to laser engraving, take your time to learn the cut and engraving settings for this type of harder, darker wood for your specific laser. I had incredibly inconsistent results initially until after much experimentation I learned that this wood in particular likes a super sloooooow cut at full power (10W laser diode). That said, the wood is great quality, beautiful, and true to thickness. Some boards have some warping to them out of the box, but living in South Texas, I can't say for certain that that isn't just due to the humid climate here. WIll definitely purchase more of these in the future.

The media could not be loaded. This wood cuts very well on the laser. Nice and clean, fine lines, no burning, no scorching. I was disappointed that it was only 11 3/4" square. I had to rearrange a few of my designs to get them on there. The finish on the wood is nice. Very smooth needed no sanding. Some of the items has a little bit of a curve to them despite the shrink wrap on them. Oh, another nice feature, they had two packs of 12 shrink wrapped inside the box of 24. The shrink wrap keeps them dry and theoretically flat until you use them. However, the second pack I used had some boards with a bit of curve to them. Not enough that I couldn't hold them flat with magnets, but enough to need magnets to hold them down.

This is some good/ok wood. But there were some issues. 1 it’s thicker than 1/8. My laser maxes out at 1/8th and no matter how hot and slow I made it, most of the pieces did not cut all the way through. Some sheets were 1/8th but most are not. Inconsistent for sure. Also, lots of the sheets were “bowed” so I had to hold it down with magnets which made the cutting even harder to do right. Maybe would have been better with a higher powered laser but not with my 10w.
