These test strips themselves were benchmarked by me against the Tetra EasyStrips since they are testing exactly the same 6 parameters of the water. Test strips are generally for a quick and rough read of the water parameters, and I think these test strips definitely met my expectation by roughly matching all readings from the Tetra EasyStrips. A few things worth noting in the comparison are: These strips are larger than the tetra strips, making them a bit easier to read (photo attached) These strips come from 3 separate packages to avoid them from spoiling from moisture. This package contains 150 strips vs. Tetra’s 100 strips. At the point of this review, they have a very similar price point between 15 and 20 dollars The tetra strips have a more readable pink color for low levels of nitrate which is arguably the most useful measurement for established fish tanks. These strips have a more faint pink color for low nitrate reading (e.g. 10 ppm), but this doesn’t affect usability too much as the color does ramp up after 20 ppm which indicates water change is needed. In addition, this package contains a lot of free physical and digital information guides on how to take care of the aquarium and reading water parameters. There is a nicely printed sheet of info in the box to explain all 6 parameters in detail and how they play a role in fish keeping. There is also a QR code to scan to get more comprehensive guides in pdf downloadable format. It is quite interesting to see a test strip product serving this information to the users and focusing so much on education. I think the strips by themselves are great and new hobbyists can definitely get great value out of the whole package. I will recommend this to experienced and new aquarium owners. ... show more

This kit was prepared with such thoughtfulness! It has 150 test strips, but in order to keep them fresh, only 1/3 are in the bottle; the other 2/3s are in two separate foil packs to be opened at later times. Also, this is by FAR the most detailed set of instructions I've ever seen for a test kit - not only on it's use but also on suggested remediation steps for various water quality issues. And most importantly: the strips do work! I compared the results with some from another previous kit I was running out of, and I can see comparable results. Accuracy was similar to an API Master test kit and similar Aqua Care pro strips. Nice that the strips are split into two foil packages for freshness of the unopened pack. Results chart is nicely formatted with safe and harmful ranges noted.
