We were so excited to get this. We put it on our stove, which already had a hot fire going, and in just a few moments, this little gem was spinning it's heart out. Only one problem. No air was being moved. Nothing, zip, zilch, nada. Found a hair from my wife (she has really nice, long, brown hair) and held it in front of the fan. Hair went straight up in the heat. Cute design, works quietly., but I can hardly feel any breeze from the unit. To me, so far, this fan is more of a novelty and not very productive of heat distribution. Worked within 1 minute on top of hot stove. After several hours the blowing is stronger. In a large house like mine (2080 sq feet) this is not very effective and I don't think I should expect that. I only gave 1 star for heat output. This unit is designed to move heat not create heat and i did not expect iy to create heat, so this low star rating is not to be taken as derogatory. Perhaps it is working...my wife thinks it is warmer in the living room. It just is a thing that is subtle in accomplishing the warming task. This product sits on my wood stove, my only source of heat for a small cottage. It alone circulates completely the warm air throughout the living space. Previously I used a squirrel cage fan that circulated around the fire box, way too noisy. Then I used a small desk which was infinitely quieter, though I could still hear it and, unless I turned it off, ran continuously. Nice small fan and it does move air like they say. So far the only issue is mine has a ticking noise now and is a little on the noisy side. We’ll see what happens in the future.
