This hoverboard works pretty well. I've never used one before but it was pretty easy to get up and running if you take your time and start up in "Safe Mode." I weigh almost 200 lbs. The website lists this as a maximum weight of 220 lbs. When you open up the instruction manual and find the model of your hoverboard, it's a "K2" model. The max weight in the manual is 180 lbs. Therefore, I shouldn't be using it because I'm heavier than the maximum weight. If you're a heavy person, this product might not be for you. I have an iPhone and was able to download it from the App Store. Setting it up to work with the hoverboard was fairly straightforward. Overall, this is a nice product. As long as your weight is below 180 lbs, I'd recommend it. My rating method: 1 star - terrible. I wouldn't consider buying it. 2 stars - marginal at best. Doesn't meet the minimum requirements or quality to be useful. Buy it at your own risk. 3 stars - average. Meets the quality and requirements for a product of this type but is nothing out of the ordinary. If the price is good, I'd probably buy it. 4 stars - better than average. Exceeds the typical quality of a product of this type and has a few extra features not usually found on other products of this type. I'd buy it. 5 stars - exceptional - far exceeds the quality of products of this type. Hard to beat the quality and features included. Best value for the money. the motor isn't very strong so it easily stops off if an adult is using it, even if they are well below the stated weight limit. It doesn't go very fast and its small so it really is ideal for kids. Quality could be better but it also could be worse. I'd call it an economy, entry level piece.

The media could not be loaded. My child is IN LOVE with this hoverboard!! Very light weight (unlike others I’ve purchased in the past) charging good, sound quality is great and the speed is fast, yet safe for her( she’s 10)

Think the biggest thing is just being nervous. Once you get over the fear of falling off it goes better. Even being a bigger adult just above the weight rating it worked fine without issues. The kids enjoy it and have fun with it. We haven't tested/used the bluetooth on it yet to know how well the sound is from it. But it works well on pavement and in the house. ... show more

A few data points from the manual based on model number: (This is the K2 model.) 6 mph max speed 7 miles range 40-180 lbs. says it should weigh 14lbs, but mine was at 12lbs 3 ounces. 300W motor (you will see these don't match what's listed on the product's page) - will report this to Seller What's nice is that you can set up to 3 different speeds depending on your need. Here's a problem I have with this product. The XsCar app for Android requires you to download the app from them (an .apk file) and then you must configure your phone to allow the install - which to most people this will scream 'warning, warning'. On IOS (Apple) you can get the app via the Apple Store. You use this app to configure the LED coloring, as well, this is how you play music via the built in speaker. Also can setup different user profiles based on skill and riding style. Battery level is also found here, but luckily on the boat itself, has a nice batter display that you can look down and see. On the IOS app, there was mention that the app did not display in English language. You don't need the app to get up and going, btw. As well, to switch thru the modes. You just put the board on it's side (wheel on the ground and other up in the air) and press on the power button. Mode 1 the battery light will flash green - safe mode. Mode 2 is beginner mode and battery light will flash green & red. Mode 3 - is sports mode the battery light will just flash red only. Strongly recommend if you've never done this before - put on a helmet, you could get some pads for elbows, knees and even some gloves - to help protect yourself while learning. The board has gyroscopes that will help it self balance and will adjust itself once you get on it and stand still while it calibrates. Pro Tip. Get used to the board before you turn it on. Use your dominant foot to get on first. Go slow in your progression. Most people struggle getting on the board - make sure your first foot is level and the board is not moving with that first foot, then step up with other foot quickly. But there's plenty of videos to learn how to do this. Put in Safe Mode (Mode 1) first. Board lights up once you turn it on - front lights and back lights (white in front and red in back). There's a battery indicator in the middle section along with green and red leds that help denote which mode the board is in. (power button and charging port goes to the back of the board) Really love the coloring of this 'galaxy purple' board. Nice mixture of colors to make it really look cool. Overall, really like this board, nice and colorful and with 3 modes to learn on allows for a wide array of ages. Remember the weight ranges for this board (above). And mostly, remember to be safe when learning and eventually driving this board around! ... show more

I recently got this Hoverboard, and it's quite fun. However, I think it's better suited for smaller kids or tiny adults. The weight limit is 220 lbs, but the heavier you are, the slower it goes. It looks nice and makes a great gift. The charge lasts for a while, which is convenient. Music connects easily to Bluetooth, though it can be a bit staticky during playback. The LED lights are a nice touch and easy to operate. Plus, there's an app you can download to control the LED lights, which adds an extra layer of fun.
