We went camping earlier this week and it was HOT. We only had short trees around us, too short to help shade our tent area. When we set it up without the rainfall hoping the slight breeze would keep it cooler through the window screens and roof screen, the sun jist beat right down into the tent through the uncovered screen. So we attached the rainfall which covers nearly the whole tent... and turned it into a sauna. So we tookit back off and strung this tart over it, at a slant due to expected light rain later in the day. It made all the difference, shaded the tent but allowed good air movement. And when it did rain, it kept the tent dry so we didn't have to put the rain fly back on. Is it very heavy duty? Not really, but it was perfect for how we used it and will continue to use it for the foreseeable future. If it starts to get raggy and leaky, we'll find another use for it until it falls apart.

If you just need a lightweight, all-purpose tarp to keep in your car for small, unexpected tasks, this one works well. I received the 5' x 7' version in white. This is a pretty typical poly weaved tarp. It has the slightly crinkly feel to it that most tarps have. I will say that it's a 5ml variant, so it truly is a lightweight tarp. If you are looking for something to put over a hole in your roof for a couple days, you are going to want something thicker. But for me, I use this to line the back of my car when I go to pick up bags of mulch or topsoil and it totally does the job to keep the back of my car clean. I opted for the white version because it's easier to see specks of dirt when I'm done, so I can brush it off completely. I do like the grommets on the sides, and the corners have stronger stitched grommets. So you can tie this down over something, but again, it's a 5ml variant so it's not going to be super strong or last a long time. It's just a temporary fix. Overall, this lightweight tarp is a solid performer and the white color is nice so you know you completely cleaned if off when you're done.

Most 5 ml tarps I've purchased from big box stores are pretty similar to each other and last about the same amount of time. This one is more light-duty to me, not heavy-duty as described, where I would use it more indoors or covering something temporarily outdoors such as a dirt pile or lumber until i use it. However, this tarp has reinforced edges and corners, where my others don't so I expect it will last longer. No worries, Tarpware stands behind their products with a 100% happiness guarantee. I use tarps for a number of things around the property and having 'heavy duty' listed as a product description is important. This means that the tarp can withstand a variety of duties, including being out in all sorts of weather. Now, I do want to note that they do say this is 5mil. This tarp is THIN. I've used other thin tarps in the past and they do not fit what I would call 'heavy duty' nor do they last being outdoors. If you buy this, I would not suggest it as an outdoor tarp and only for periodic uses outside. The tarp is very light and thin and would work for temporary projects and things of that nature. However, as noted above, this is NOT a heavy duty tarp and would not work well for those applications. Long term durability will be the real test of this tarp, but due to the thin material, I do not believe it will last a long time before ripping. With all the above in mind, I can only give this 3 stars out of 5. It will serve some usefulness but lacks in durability and thickness to endure heavy duty use.

I don’t know what all you can say about a tarp other than it’s a tarp! It’s good quality, like any other tarp I’ve ever used. It will work great to cover things in the rain or under a tent. The price is right and it will work for all the things tarps work for!

This is a nice light-duty tarp. It has reinforced corners and is waterproof, but it isn't as heavy-duty as I expected. Still decent quality, though.
