  • Good Practice Sticks
My older brother just gave me his electronic drum set a few weeks ago and I'm hoping that one of my kids takes a liking to it. He gave me a few sets of sticks to use, but kids can be pretty rough with their instruments, so I was happy to get the opportunity to review this 12-pair set. I think these are honestly great for beginners, especially kids. I've primarily used hickory sticks in the past, but as woodworker, I'm familiar with different woods and I was surprised at how lightweight these sticks were, considering they're supposed to be maple, which is a fairly dense species. My guess is that they're made of a soft maple species, as hard (rock) maple is pretty heavy stuff. The sticks are unfinished, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. They feel a little rough to the touch and absorb moisture pretty easily. What I don't like is that most of these sticks have some bend to them. Perhaps it's because they're unfinished and bent because they absorbed some moisture, but I'd venture a guess that they were just made from wood that wasn't fully dried and simply warped while they dried out. It doesn't really affect your playing, but is just mildly annoying once you notice it. 4 out of 5 stars - These are great sticks for practice and/or kids (though they might be a bit too big for the youngest ones). At this price, you can mercilessly beat on these things and not feel too bad if you dent or crack them and have to throw them out. You'll still have another 11 pairs to work with. ... show more

  • Keeping the beat
The perfect drum sticks for a beginner or someone like me with an electronic drum set! Smooth, lightweight, balanced and feels nice in your hands when playing. A big set at a great price on top of great quality. I am very happy with this set, truly amazing!

  • Good for backup
My husband is a drummer and likes these sticks as a great back up. Something extra to throw in your bag when you were out and about or if someone comes up and wants a pair of your drumsticks after you’re done playing, you can sign these and hand them out since you get so many. They are somewhat lightweight but if you are a germ that likes a lightweight feel, these would be perfect. Fit in the hand nicely and or sand it down very smoothly. Could paint if you wanted to do some type of arts and crafts project! ... show more

  • For beginners
Got a pack of these for our Girls Rock camp. They seem perfect for that. They are a bit light in the hand for seasoned drummers and there is no finish on the wood, so they don't feel good to me. I would not buy them for myself but for a bunch of 8 to 10 year olds I think they'll be fine.

  • Good for practice pads.
The media could not be loaded. I just want to start by saying you definitely get a lot of sticks for the money. And as I said the video they're well made they're lightweight, they're easy to hold or grip and they're pretty much your basic drumstick 5A. My opinion perfect for beginners especially if you have a pad great for your practice pad work to work on your your rudiments. You definitely don't want to use them if you're a hard-hitting drummer because they're so lightweight there's a super good chance you're going to splinter them or break them especially if you're doing rim shots or hitting your symbols heavy. But again they're perfect for beginners and specially practicing and practice pad work which is actually pretty important if you're just beginning cuz you definitely want to work on the rudiments and daily if you can and these sticks are be perfect for that. And you have enough of them that if they do break well you got another one to replace it and that's a nice thing that none of them are marked so you just put them in your drum stick bag just grab one if one does break they're still going to look the same they're going to match because there's no writing on them no marking on them. But yeah overall as I said a couple times already perfect for practicing perfect for practicing on a practice pad it's lightweight easy to grip and you're not going to wear yourself out with them especially again if you're working on your rudiments and your doing it for any length of time. I like them again you get a whole lot for your money so you don't have to worry about it one does break or you lose a pair or whatever you got plenty of backups they're nicely made they're lightweight and for those reasons I would recommend them certainly for beginners and practicing in my opinion. ... show more

  • Insane amount of sticks for cheap!
12 pairs of drum sticks for $18? That's crazy! That's a little over $1 per pair. The sticks feel fine. I'm only a beginner drummer so I haven't tried out many "premium sticks" yet, but overall these feel pretty good to practice with. They're about as basic as you can get, being made out of maple. Overall, great set of sticks for beginners, and there's a lot of them! If you just want a lot of spare sticks, or you're running a class on the cheap or something, then these are pretty good! I recommend them! ... show more

  • Great set of sticks for new drummers
I wanted to get some inexpensive sticks for beginners. These sticks were a prefect fit for my needs. The first thing I noticed with these sticks is that they are very well balanced for their price. They are smooth and straight and have some heft to them, even though they are a little shorter than some of the sticks I have used. They are not much shorter, but just enough to make them easier to wield for newer or smaller players. The wood is nice, and they rebound well when working through some exercises that require a rebound in the hit. Overall I feel confident in recommending these for early or intermediate drummers. ... show more
