  • Great micro lens
Size: 58MM
For the price that this camera lens is I wasn’t expecting much, but to my surprise it turned out to be amazing! Some of the close up photos I’ve taken came out so good. You can even see the pollen on the flowers. 10/10 recommend!

  • Awesome for the price
Size: 49MM
I needed a wide angle lense for my Canon r50. I just bought the camera as my first camera. I was shocked at how much actual Canon lenses cost. 💀 I saw this little guy. I tried it. And.... it WORKS GREAT! I mostly use my camera so far for live streaming and I need to expand the view of my stream area. This works great. Honestly, never pay for a Canon brand, when this is perfect! I haven't tried the macro (up close) option on the lense yet, but I would be willing to bet its just as good ... show more

  • For 28 bucks?
Size: 58MM
So what do you get for 28 bucks? I am a pro and thought i would give this a try before i go and drop 5 large on a real wide angle lens. The Good: Pretty nice glass for the money, in the pic with the wire rim of my readers the glass is pretty clear, better than i expected for the money for the macro only part. Given you are putting another layer of glass between your subject and the sensor i could see using this now and again. It did mess with the AF a little so I switched to MF and simply moved the camera closer till i got the focus point I wanted. Doesn't take a lot of light away. As for the wide angle, well it's ok. If I zoom up a little to get rid of the vignetting it seems to have mostly a usable area but...... Now for the Bad: The focus drops off severely around the outer edges and there is some color aberrations to contend with along the edges as well. My pics have un-cropped/uncorrected, cropped/uncorrected, useable cropped/uncorrected, un-cropped/corrected at the 18-55 and finally un-cropped/corrected using the canon 8mm correction in adobe PS CS6. You can judge for yourself. As a pro I will toss this in the bag and I could see using it in an unrestrained crop situation but it's usefulness is limited at 16:9 crop. Like I said, for 28 bucks what the hell, the macro works pretty well, the glass is great for the money and it could come in handy in some situations. ... show more

  • No replacement for a proper wide angle lens.
Size: 58MM
Firstly, my comment reflects the product, not the seller. Digital Goja is an A+ retailer and I'd give them my business again without hesitation. My issue is with the Altura product. The product felt sturdy enough. Didn't feel cheap or fragile in hand. On the camera, it definitely added some weight to the front of my camera which wasn't particularly great. If they product had worked as described, I wouldn't have minded so much. But it didn't meet expectations/hopes and here's why: 1. BLUR. Fisheye lenses by nature cause blurring and distortion around the edges of the frame. And even though this isn't a true fisheye adapter, it had that blur and distortion. However, the blur didn't stop there. EVERY image I took with it turned out fuzzy and unusable. THE WHOLE IMAGE. Not just the edges. A total lack of clarity. 2. The weight. As mentioned, it has some heft to this. Though I don't believe it caused any damage to my lens during my test shoot, I must CAUTION that prolonged usage of this product may add unnecessary wear and tear to your camera lens. Especially the auto-focus motor. 3. The fisheye distortion is neither here nor there. It's too soft to add anything special to shots taken yet too prominent to ignore. Most photos (those that were slightly more in focus and others) looked awkward because of this. 4. The macro aspect worked better than the wide angle but only marginally. Though the magnification is impressive, there was still blurring and softness even in the focused areas of my shots. I took a chance despite advice otherwise to try this product and see if it could meet my needs considering it's a great deal less expensive than a proper camera lens. I wanted to like it but the product sent to me was unusable. D. Goja took the product back without hassle as per their great customer service standards. I have an Altura Photo flash unit and it works really well for the money. In future though, I'll have to be more careful about buying their products. Bottom line: Save up and buy yourself a proper wide angle lens. You'll be glad you did. There is no viable alternative. Especially not in this price range. ... show more
