This unit is pretty hefty. Keep that in mind if you have to carry it down a flight of stairs. I have this set up in an unfinished basement of a 100 year old home. If it so much as sprinkles outside, my basement is full of water due to the hydrostatic pressure on the old concrete. When I first plugged it in, the humidity in the basement was close to 70%, and it smelled musty down there. Within the first 24 hours of running it, the humidity dropped to roughly 60% and the unit had shut itself off due to the tank being full. The tank is easy to remove, and empty. However, I thought I had the drain tube set up correctly, but I failed to read the directions before I set it up. As it turns out, I had put the tube too far into the sump pump basin, and the end of the tube was touching the water. This caused the drain tube to back up, and fill the internal tank. To remedy this, I merely had to raise the tube above the water level, and it is draining properly now. I was able to set the humidity to a target of 50% through the front display. It has been running continuously for a few weeks now, and the humidity is staying at the target point. I haven't had to drain the tank again, since it drips directly into the sump pump. The musty smell in the basement is now gone, and the floor has finally dried up. I feel this is priced very reasonably for what you are getting. I am very happy with this dehumidifier. ... show more

This is a really heavy duty dehumidifier for your RV, basement or house. This would be ideal for an RV because it's a bit smaller than most, but still a bit bigger and heavier than I expected. It holds quite a bit of water, but also has a tube that bypasses the water catch so you can run it 24/7 without it filling up and stopping. It's nice and quiet and very effective. The instructions say you can run this after you set it upright for at least 2 hours. This surprised me as most fridges and freezers with a compressor and refrigerant take at least 24 hours to settle. I let mine settle for 24 hours just to be on the safe side. If you start them too soon you'll fry your compressor, just be aware of that. This not only reduces the humidity but it also puts out some heat, so in an RV it acts both as a heater and dehumidifier to some extent. Assembly was easy, all except the wheels were a bit tough to insert, but I was able to manage. I love the nice white color with the black top, it would match both a white or black theme in our RV or house. It will dehumidify up to 5500 square feet, which is really amazing. I will honestly say the only thing that I am not happy about is the price hype. When I got it, it was $230+, and now it is $100 less. I think the new price is more reasonable. I do however like how it works so far. I can't speak about its longevity as I have a super heavy dehumidifier that is the same size but for some reason this new ELECCI dehumidifier is super lightweight. It is a way QUIETER then my older Dehumidifier. I will not be using the hose nor have I used the hose so I cannot speak about how well the hose works. The hose does feel cheap. Aside from that i enjoy everything about this dehumidifier. Water got in the house due to a heavy storm and it did suck up the water pretty good. It is easier to use. Definitely worth it for the new price, and quality so far. Side note: straight out of the box, keep upright for 2 hours before using it. ... show more

    • This seems like it’s a pretty good unit.
I’m almost certain this is a white-label product. I noticed while comparison shopping that many components looked very familiar. But it does a nice job. It’s a hefty unit at about 30 pounds, so keep that in mind. It’s very easy to set up and get going. It also stays going on its own with its “smart” features. With the drainage hose option, you can basically set it and forget it. It will also restart after power outages. The quiet mode is also a nice feature. It seems to make quick work of its job too. You can feel a difference in a room that needs it fairly quickly, even in large spaces. The quality seems ok and if you catch it on sale or with a coupon, the price is competitive, making it a reasonable value under those circumstances. ... show more

So far I'm very pleased with this dehumidifier. It removes a lot of water and does it pretty quietly. My only complaint about it is the hose connection for bypassing the tank and draining directly through a hose. The hose connection only fits a small tube and not a regular garden hose. Other dehumidifiers that I've had in the past have hooked up to a regular garden hose, which is harder to install, but much more convenient if you have to remove the water any significant distance. One thing I wonder about with this dehumidifier is the ionizer setting. There's nothing about it in the manual. I know there's a risk with certain types of ionizers creating ozone, so I would like to know what type this one is. But overall this machine is doing a great job so far.     • This machine works like magic getting the moisture out of our basement
It has been extremely humid so we've been postponing the painting of our basement floor until we could get some of the moisture out. This dehumidifier works great! It's very easy to set up and use, and we had a full bucket within two days of running it. We're keeping it running during these humid days, and it's still collecting water but at a much slower rate. That's good because it means the basement is drying out. I don't really know how appliances work, lol, so I thought we would have to move this around the basement to collect moisture, but alas, it's been in the same spot and since it covers a lot of square feet, we shouldn't have to move it at all. It's not very loud. In fact I don't really hear it now when I venture downstairs. This is the first dehumidifier I've ever owned, so I nothing to compare it to, but it works exactly as we had hoped it would, and the painting the basement floor won't be an issue now.     • Swampy Basement, Meet Your Match
My basement had developed a personality, and that personality was damp. Boxes felt soft, the air felt heavy, and I was fairly sure something was quietly growing behind the shelves. This thing fixed it fast. It pulls water out quickly and then holds the humidity right at my setting without cycling like crazy. For a big open space it keeps up without gasping. The drain hose is the feature that sold me. Run it to a floor drain and you never touch a bucket again. If hosing is not an option, the tank pops out easily and it shuts off on its own when full. Sleep mode is quiet enough to leave running overnight, and the wheels make moving it a non event. It runs a little warm and wants some breathing room around it, but those are normal for the category.
