There is comfort in believing your papers are safe from fire and water. Of course, you always hope it will never be put to the test. This document bag seems very sturdy. It zips up and also has a velcro flap that seals over the zipper. I feel pretty confident with this bag. I'm going to look at some other sizes now.

Obviously the true test of this is seeing how contents survive a fire, and fortunately mine hasn’t been put to that test. But it appears to be heavy duty and is a good size to put things like passports and photos in. It’s also much more compact than even small fireproof boxes, and has an equivalent or better fire temperature rating, so I’ll probably get a few more. This actually fits inside of my small fireproof box, so I put it there to give the most important items an extra level of protection.

The bag seems sturdy and the color is good except for the damage to the paint (?) on the front of it. The real problem is that the zipper doesn’t close all the way. I can fit my pinky finger in the space it leaves open, so heat and water would get in easily. I’m returning it.
