I purchased this after watching some comparison videos, and this one came out on/near the top. I’m very happy with this reel! It is plastic like all the others, but seems quite well constructed. The hose itself is nice and smooth, no problem with kinking if treated kindly. I’m especially satisfied with the hose nozzle. It has a metal body which should last much longer than the crappy plastic ones you get these days. I was even surprised to find the stream selector has a setting that is something between single jet and the shower. It has more power than the shower, but covers more area than the narrow jet. The reel operation is easy and predictable: just pull out what you need and it locks in place. When done, a short tug initiates retraction. The swivel works as advertised: I store it 90 degrees to the right, pull the hose either at 0 degrees or 90 degrees to the left, so it gets swiveled a lot. The mount is solid and no chance it’ll fail, even with the weight of the hose full of water. Overall, I can highly recommend this. I’m at a point in my life where I’ll gladly pay more for a quality product rather than save a few bucks and have to replace every few years. This reel seems to fit the bill.

This is a great reel. Came with a hose which seems ok plus a descent noozle. I made way more of a project geeting anchored then most might, but only bc of my particular situation in putting where there was existing concrete and no a suitable anchor point. Super silent reel, functions well, should have done this year's ago!

We only had it a couple of months, but so far we love it! We have a micro farm and this makes our chores so much easier. We don't have water out by the animals, I was exhausted from hauling 5 gallons buckets of water. This allows me to pull the hose close by the animals, in either direction. It pulls easy and with a tug it locks and another tug it unlocks. Reels up easy. The hose reel seems to be well made, hoping the hose holds up well through the colder months, it doesn't seem real thick. This reel also made it easy to wash my car and spray off the deck and water the garden. The power sprayer is not heavy duty, but worked well. Was a great price.

Seems like a decent unit but the length is not accurate. I bought the 100 foot 5/8 hose and mine is only 84 feet. I reach out to support and they said that is normal. They should put a usable length in the description

After a couple of days of use I'm pleased with the operation of my Hozereel. I did have a problem mounting the plastic bracket. Three of the five mounting holes restrict the use of power tools aiming straight or because the mounting hole is deep and narrow. You will need an extender to drive the lag screws in place. The center hole is too narrow for a socket. The hex head lag screws also have a Phillips slot which you will have to use for the center hole. The problem is the 5 lag screws provided are made of soft metal and the Phillips slot strips out very easy. Luckly for me I only had the center lag screw in halfway when it stripped out. I was able to reach behind the bracket and remove the lag screw with a pair of channel lock pliers. I ended up using the that lag screw in another hole using a socket. If I had driven the center one in place all the way and the Phillips slot was damaged it would be difficult to remove it if necessary. Because of the spacing between the lag screws I added a piece of 2 x 4 to the side of my 4 x 4 post with the ends cut off at a 45-degree angle. Recommend using a rot protector sleeve (heat up type) and a yard trimmer post guard on 4 x 4 post. You will need a post guard that comes in 4 pieces because the sleeve will make the post wider. I plan to purchase another Hozereel later. Have already purchased 2 extra brackets. One for another location in my yard and one for my garage to store my Hozereel during winter.

I got the 130ft, 1/2" option. I was little concerned that 1/2" might be too thin but for my purpose it basically made no difference. It gets harder to pull once you are past about 30-40 feet and gets decently heavy too. But that is to be expected from a 130ft hose full of water. Have used it for about a week now with no issues in retraction. One thing regarding mounting to keep in mind, the bracket is a little wider than a standard 4x4. So I used a 16" 2x4 piece and attached it to the side of the 4x4. It worked out well.

I posted this on a tree log that I buried in the ground. I surrounded the tree log with gravel for drainage. I cut a notch at the top of the log and mounted this retractable garden hose perfectly. I drag this hose around to water some new shrubs that are planted pretty far away from the house. The retraction works very well. I've been using it a couple times a week with no issues. I sometimes let is auto reel with water spigot turned on and have not had any problems. I have not experienced any leaks (knock on wood) so far. I've had it a few months now and I really enjoy the 100ft length and the auto retraction. It beats having to manually loop a large honking hose.

As a previous owner of two giraffe hose reels.. that both broke in less than a year.. this thing is phenomenal deal. It is significantly better in terms of looks and functionality than the giraffe reels. I’m honestly mad I didn’t find this sooner and wasted so much time and money on the giraffe reels.
