I've had squirrel problems for years and have tried every feeder on the market it seems. This is the best feeder I've ever bought. I love this thing. I especially like how much seed it holds. The media could not be loaded. This feeder is great EXCEPT it's not sensitive enough for those cute but annoying red squirrels. They still manage to get their fill almost effortlessly and have chewed away at every opening. It's easy to fill, looks nice, great price, doesn't get clogged, and attracts beautiful birds for us. I think my only option is to buy the more expensive bird seed that they don't like, which I've already had to do for another bird feeder. I'm still happy with my purchase but just know that it's not totally squirrel proof! ... show more

So far (a few months) we are cautiously optimistic about this one in the ongoing squirrel wars. It handles a lot of feed, is easy to load and hang, attracts the birds, and seems to mostly defeat the squirrels. Might get another one!

It REALLY works to keep pesky squirrels out of the feeder. Well constructed, sturdy, attractive. Multiple perches for birds allow several feathered friends to share meals.

    • Very squirrel proof if properly hung correctly. At least for heavy squirrels
The media could not be loaded. Works great if hung on a post the squirrel can't hang horizontally by hind feet and rob the feeder. I mounted it on a medal post that is close to 1" in diameter. However, when a scrawny young squirrel comes around, they use their light weight to their advantage. It reaches in and pulls the feeder open. ... show more

    • Nice BIG feeder!
Overall a great birdfeeder. I like how much seed it holds. Birds seem to love it. Squirrel protection is very good, I’ve only had o e squirrel that figured out how to lift the lid and get the seed, so only improvement would be a locking top. Overall, very satisfied.
