  • Great sound for the money but terrible instructions
The two rear speakers and the sound bar each have their own power adaptor. The subwoofer plugs into the wall with the included power cable. The speakers and sub woofer connect via Bluetooth to the Sound bar which controls the entire system. They are supposed to come pre-paired but mine did not. The manual pairing instructions did not work. I emailed the support team on Friday night and by Sunday morning I had a detailed reply (which was good customer service). They didn't give a phone number so email is the only way. The reply let me figure things out and everything paired quickly (my version of instructions below). Sound quality is very good for my ear but I am sure audiophiles will have complaints. Volume only goes to 34 but this is VERY loud for TV watching. There is a small display in the center of the sound bar (behind the grill so it hides it when not in use). the display is only necessary for changing modes. The device comes with a remote (you have to provide 2xAAA batteries due to shipping concerns). The remote is only really necessary for setup or changing modes. I connected my TV to the sound bar using a standard HDMI cable and the ARC port on my TV. Most recent TVs have this but you need to verify you have an ARC port. The speaker system comes with an HDMI cable, a digital optical cable, and standard RCA cables so you will be able to connect it to any audio device made in the last 20 years. By using ARC, the TV remote controls the sound through the speakers and automatically turns off the TV speaker. Pretty cool. When you push volume up/down, my TV shows a +/- and the ARC letters but the display hidden in the sound bar shows the volume level in bright white numerals that disappear after you are done adjusting the sound. This is great. Once you pair the speakers, you don't have to pair them again. They are supposed to come pre-paired out of the box, but mine did not. I strongly recommend you pair the speakers before doing any installation simply by plugging them all in near each other with the back of the remote speakers and subwoofer facing you so you can see the pairing button and red light. Here is what was not clear in the instructions or is hard to find: (1) When the sound bar is off, a red light is on (behind the grill). When the sound bar is on, the red light is off. You can leave the sound bar on 24/7. (2) you turn the sound bar on/off by pressing the power button on the remote and pointing it at the center of the sound bar. If you lose the remote, the important buttons are in a circle on the right hand side of the sound bar (instructions describe function of each button). (3) If auto pairing doesn't work, this is how you pair the speakers: - Plug in all 4 devices and turn on sub woofer (toggle switch on back) - turn off the sound bar so solid red light shows - there should be a flashing red light on the back of both remote speakers and the subwoofer - There is a pairing button on the back of each speaker and sub woofer. Only the sub woofer button is labeled and I didn't see this info in the instructions. There is only one button on each so you can't get confused. -Long press the pairing button on the back of each speaker/sub woofer for 5 seconds until the red light goes from flashing steadily to flashing rapidly. Now it is in pairing mode. I think you have to do everything in 1 minute (thus why I said place 3 speakers together with backs facing you). - once you have repeated this process for both speakers and sub woofer the red lights on all three should be flashing rapidly. This means they are in pairing mode. - Now turn on the sound bar using the remote. The red light on the sound bar will go out and the white letters should briefly appear. Mine said "No USB". I guess that means in ships in USB mode. - Very quickly the other speakers should have solid red lights meaning they are paired. Once paired the instructions say you never have to pair them again but I am writing this on day one so I will update if necessary. - Using the mode button on the remote, change the sound bar mode to whichever connection you are using. I used ARC but you can use digital audio, AUX (for using the old fashioned RCA cables), or USB for playing music with a thumb drive. I imagine digital audio has better sound quality but I don't know that. Also I don't know if digital audio does the same TV remote control trick as ARC does. - Once everything is working you should be able to install the speakers without ever using the remote again or having to pair again. The speakers go on tables or the wall behind the listener and the subwoofer sits on the floor. Close to the listener will help you feel the sound but it has to be plugged into wall power. Keep in mind if you mount the sound bar on the wall (mounting hardware included) you will need to run the cable for the TV and the power adaptor cable in the wall if you don't want them to show. I will update this review if I find things don't work as well as I wrote here. I thought I detected some glitches in the sound the first 15 seconds of a movie but it went away so I may have imagined it. On day one, I am very happy with the purchase. ... show more

  • The PERFECT soundbar home theater system with quick & easy setup and INCREDIBLE sound!!!!
I needed to upgrade from our super ancient Samsung Home Theater and let me tell you, the Raineverry 5.1 Soundbar System absolutely BLEW THE DUSTY SOCKS RIGHT OFF that old thing!!! I knew there were way better/newer options out there for all-in-one (box) surround sound, but HOLY MOLY, I was not prepared for the richness, clarity, output and quality that this system brings. I debated buying it for AT LEAST a year and, oh man, am I so glad that I finally did! Honestly, I wish I would have done it sooner. It’s a crime that I waited so long. The sound is WONDERFULLY crisp and gets L-O-U-D; you definitely won’t have to max out the volume if you’re setting it up in a fairly standard sized living room. The soundbar isn’t bulky at all…more so slim and wide…and projects sound in all directions giving the feel of multiple front/center speakers. With clear and also slim-but-mighty left & right rear speakers, you get that full immersion, surround sound experience. And, YES, the subwoofer has deep, full-sounding bass that you can feeeeel!! You can even control the bass and treble levels separately, right from the remote, simply by pressing the + or - buttons for each. There are other simple-to-use features on the remote as well, like different preset sound settings, bluetooth, volume, mute, track control and power. Nothing over-the-top, complex or confusing about it…much like a Roku or other streaming device remote. Just the necessary buttons, which is nice for a change. Not only that, but the setup was also easy to navigate. Just unbox, position your soundbar, subwoofer & rear speakers where you want them, plug in a few cords and BOOM you’re done!!! It took like 15-20 minutes, tops! And the best part…NO WIRES!!!!!!! When I say “no wires”, I mean, TOTALLY WIRELESS. Most other systems only have a wireless subwoofer or “wireless” rear speakers that still require a wire to connect between the two, and/or the subwoofer, soundbar or bluetooth repeater (that “speaks” to them). The rear speakers have absolutely no wires other than their respective electrical cords that simply plug into the wall. You can literally place them ANYWHERE within several feet of an outlet (or go farther with an extension cord). I can’t tell you how freaking awesome it is to not run wires up the walls, across the floor, under carpet, into the ceiling or anywhere else. I love that you can actually notice and clearly hear that extra layer of surrounding sound. As someone that likes expensive, premium sound at home for lots of music and movies, I didn’t have to pay the hefty price tag for one of those big name systems to get it. I’m obsessed! So, if you’re needing to step up your sound game but want to keep it simple without calling in the pros or all the hassle, this is definitely the way to go! ... show more

  • This 5.1 Setup Totally Transformed My Movie Nights
Man, this 5.1‑channel setup has totally transformed movie night at my place. I was skeptical that a single sound bar and a couple of little speakers could really mimic a full theater, but wow—this thing really delivers. The subwoofer thumps so hard I actually felt my couch vibrate (in a good way!), and the rear speakers wrap the room in sound so I’m not just hearing the action, I’m right in the middle of it. Hooking it up took maybe five minutes—HDMI ARC did all the heavy lifting, and Bluetooth 5.3 paired with my phone instantly. I shuffled through Netflix, YouTube, even an old Blu‑ray, and every time the dialogue came through crystal clear. I also love that there are quick presets (Movie, Music, Game) so I can switch from a bass‑heavy playlist to a quiet drama without fussing with EQ knobs. On the design side, it’s sleek and low‑key—doesn’t block my TV or look like it belongs in a sci‑fi movie set. All the wires tuck away nicely, so my wife even complimented me on the “clean, grown‑up look” (I’ll take that as a win). Bottom line: if you want real surround sound without running a tangle of cables across your living room, this is the easiest, most impressive upgrade you can make. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Now I have surround sound for my LG
Now I have surround sound for my LG. This speaker set is wireless and was easy to set up. They made the TV sound crisper and clearer. I get the surround effects when they are part of the programing. My only complaint on this set, is I am unable to program each speaker independently.
