This is my review of the Vellgoo 5300 sq ft dehumidifier. (Model Taurus Pro-RCS50(Y)-N4-3) Our previous dehumidifier failed after about 7 years of service, so I decided to give the Vellgoo brand a try. So far, it’s been working great and I am very happy with it. We use the dehumidifier in our basement, and it has no trouble maintaining the humidity that I have set at 40%. The dehumidifier is typically sized for units of similar capacities. The control panel employs soft touch buttons, with audible feedback. There are small lights associated with each button to help the user determine if the proper mode, fan speed, timer, etc., has been selected. There’s also an LED display that is used to set the target humidity level, as well as the timer function. There are various modes that the unit can operate in, however, I chose to run it in custom mode, with a target humidity of 40%. From there, it turns itself on and off, and varies the fan speed as required. This dehumidifier has a three-speed fan to circulate the air through the unit. The ambient air is drawn in on a side panel through a washable filter, and the dry air is exhausted from the top panel. I typically run the fan speed on the medium setting and it moves plenty of air around our basement. The compressor sound is very quiet, and can only be heard slightly above the sound of the fan running on the medium setting. The dehumidifier collects the water in a removable bucket for easy disposal. The water can also be drained via the included drain hose for continuous use. The unit can be purchased with a built-in condensate pump; however, the unit I purchased does not have this feature. I was already using a standalone condensate pump with my old dehumidifier, so I decided to go with the same configuration on the new dehumidifier. This dehumidifier is ENERGY STAR Certified. The specifications indicate a maximum power draw of 600 watts. The compressor has a five-year warranty, which I am happy with. The remainder of the unit has a 1-year warranty, which can be extended to 2 years when the unit is registered with Vellgoo. I also am very happy with the Vellgoo customer service. I contacted them with questions I had about the operation of the unit, and they responded quickly, and completely. They made sure that all of my questions were taken care of, 100%. Overall, I am fully satisfied with the performance of the Vellgoo Taurus Pro dehumidifier. It is quiet, easy to operate, effective and efficient. I have no trouble giving it a 5-star rating. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an ENERGY STAR Certified dehumidifier.

Have had for a year now with no issues. The unit performs well, is powerful and quiet. Hose connections are a little bit of a concern. It comes with a clear tube that you press into place. It's not the tightest connection. I have some concern that it will pop off one day and I will have a mess. Would have preferred a simple garden hose type or screw on connection. Also, there are a lot of icons on the controls. At this point, one year in, I've forgotten what they all mean. Luckily I've not had to change anything or I'd be looking for the manual. Overall, a great performing unit at a good price but with a few quirks.

This dehumidifier works really well for its price and makes a big difference in comfort at home. I use it in a large basement, and it quickly removes extra moisture, keeping the air fresh and dry. The humidity control is smart and accurate, and the drain hose option makes it very convenient to use for long periods. It also helps the room feel warmer and more comfortable overall. The only small issue is that it’s a bit noisy on high speed, especially at night. Still, it’s energy-efficient, easy to move, and great value for money.

Purchased in July of 2025 and it worked great. Started it up for this year and it wasn't working. Contacted customer service and they replied right away giving tips to get it working, but it just wouldn't work. Since it was still under warranty they sent me a brand new one within couple of days. It works perfectly. This is the best customer service I have ever experienced.

Update.... This thing used to work great. Out of nowhere the fan speed button stopped working. Thought maybe the button was locked. Checked the manual and tried to unlock the child lock. Didn't change a thing. Fan speed is no longer able to be adjusted manually. It would only adjust when I went from rocket to night mode. Figured oh well, at least it still works.... Nope lol, it's no longer dropping humidity in the room. Grabbed a hygrometer and watched it slowly climb as the humidity increased in the room and the dehumidifier was "running." So, it's dead... Didn't even last a year which is sad for how much this thing costs. Disappointed, what started off great definitely didn't last. Skip this purchase. So far this thing works amazing. No real large increase in my power bill since I started using it. My last dehumidifier used to add $30-40/mo to my power bill. So this one is much more efficient. Can't speak for longevity yet but as of right now, I would 100% buy it again. Not too loud and gets the humidity down fast. Only thing I wish it had was a pump.

This dehumidifier works super well! I have a pretty humid basement and this dehumidifier decreases the humidity by about 30% very quickly when it’s turned on. Not very loud given its size and very easy to empty the water tank. It also comes with a 2 year warranty that takes 5 seconds to register for. Vellgoo customer service is also great. I was having an issue with the dehumidifier entering “defrost mode” frequently and communicating the corresponding error code. I emailed their support team and received an email back the next day from a team member who was able to quickly help me troubleshoot. After following one of her recommendations, the dehumidifier has been working great without anymore issues ever since. Would definitely recommend!

Review is for the Vellgoo 5000 sq ft dehumidifier, we have a large basement and use two dehumidifiers. This unit replaced an old one, it works so well at keeping humidity level at 40% the second unit we have rarely goes on. It is very quiet, seems like a quality model and has worked well for over a month and a half now. Like others have said it does have a smaller drain bucket but has a nice corner drain on the bucket to empty water, we empty it twice a day. Also as others have mentioned during shipping the drain bucket handle might flip up and block bucket from being removed, simply open small drain hose door on right side of unit and you can push down handle with your finger. Overall quite happy with this unit so far.
