I read reviews that stated how hard the assembly was. Well I assembled it by myself in just over an hour. If I had a helper to hold things it would have taken around 45 minutes. The instructions were not bad, I have certainly seen worse. The instructions in a rare instance for me were more helpful than the YouTube video. The design seems solid and a lot of thought went into make it unlikely to rattle. I will update this after I place it in the car and drive around some. There were a few bent corners but as another reviewer mentioned they were easy enough to straighten out. The packaging did a nice job protection the product. So far I’m pleased. Update: 7-28-21 fit in my 2018 escape perfectly. Keeping the depth where I can fold up the rear seats also a perfect fit. My 70 lb Lab fits in one side comfortably and her puppy sister lab n the other. Be driven over some pretty rough roads and have heard zero rattles. I spent most of my day putting this together. I read the instruction and watch a video. Standing and looking, the left side was good. The right side was bend in a couple of places. I had to manipulate the left side in order in order to get it to work. I was disappointed.

The assembly instructions are hard to follow. There was some minor metal bending due to transportation but nothing major. However once assembled this is a fantastic product. There can be some rattling when the dogs aren’t in the cages but I think that’s mostly the middle divider. There can also be some rattling if the tie down straps aren’t taught. When the dogs are in the cage I hear very little rattling. They are happy. They can see out the back window if the stand up. (Border Collies). Quality was good but size was much to small for larger dogs, ended up with variogate and divider,about same price. Unless you have a lg SUV that can us e the max crate or smaller dogs becareful of the size.

This is a very sturdy safe crate for my dog. It is very quiet in the back of my vehicle (not rattling) and allows good visibility out the back window. I got the extra large one. When put together it is a great pet cage. Open enough dog likes to look out and secure doors make it so he doesn’t even bother with pushing on them. Putting together alone was a task requiring about 90 minutes as I put on one section backwards not tracking front vs back on the top. Loved using it on 2,000 miles of travel. Always wanted one of these awesome cages, bought a double XL. It arrived damaged but we were able to bend back into usable shape. Would have returned if it had been more feasible to do so. Now assembled, happy with it though had not realized one has to have the back seats up to have the safety crumple features ready to work if there is a crash. ... show more

    • Buyer Beware - terrible quality, and assembly was a nightmare

I bought the Large+ Single version, directly from the US distributor, but found a few problems in the product: a) Assembly was a sheer nightmare, with lousy printed instructions b) The pipes on the side, have a rubber bit in the middle....dogs will just bite it right off. Terrible choice and poor design c) The overall product is chintzy and cheap and poorly designed. Don't know how this is rated as "crash-tested" d) The floor of the interior of the cage (where the dog lies down) is made of metal and contains 2 poorly fitted pieces, once assembled. These 2 pieces have a sharp edge and a gap between the 2 pieces.....very easy for the dog to get pinched between the 2 sharp metal pieces d) They do all kinds of tricks to prevent a return. This is of zero use to me, but they WILL NOT pick up the call to initiate a return. Returns are IMPOSSIBLE. I would avoid the product and the company like the plague. Will not recommend the chintzy product or the organization who sells them. This is a $1000+ product and in no way, shape or form is it worth even $100. Just cheap, chintzy and unsafe. ... show more
