Well built, good thick paint, stood up to being hammered into the ground. I used it to mount a 100' hose reel so it gets tugged on daily to pull the hose out. I have installed 2 hose reels with these and they are built well!

Use these to replace the cemented in posts on 60' of fence. The fence is built into a hill. Every 10 years through freezing and thawing the soil moves forward and the fence leans about a foot out of plum. Cut the cemented in posts off, and pounded 11 of these in. Others recommend that it's nice to have a second party hold the post plum as you're pounding these in. I agree. Some of them I was alone and I had to keep checking them for plumb often moving it in the needed direction. The others I had help with checking plum as the post is being pounded in. Big help! I don't think these are going to come out on their own very easily. We were off on one of the spikes and had to pop it out and reposition it. Papa was not the right word with big levers and wooden blocks to act as four complaints it took two big guys about a half hour to get it out of the ground. Hopefully that's a good sign. I fear that while pounding them in the post pocket at the top of the spike would break off, but the welds held really well. They didn't bend. They didn't break. The thought behind using these is that when they do move forward again to freezing and thawing and soil movement the spikes could be popped out and repositioned unlike cemented in posts. We'll see... ... show more
