I bought this with no illusions that it was going to win me a cinematography award. I had read other reviews that mentioned how the camera struggles with full 4K. But set the resolution to 1080P and it records surprisingly well. The webcam function works well and is easy to use. The picture and video files are easily transferred to Blender. (Makes a good video editor, and it’s free.) All in all, for learning videography and video editing, it’s a great little camera. It’s just not going to be a Canon or Panasonic killer. Some may call me cynical, but this camera isn't quite what I would want to buy. Anyone looking to buy this would be much better off saving for a Canon or another reputable brand. As with Amazon, the specs of this camera look great, but upon first impressions the image quality is relatively bad on any setting. To elaborate, there are many artifacts in the footage and a very high level of grainy-ness. If you are someone looking to create YouTube content as I am, I would highly recommend saving or just using your phone, as a phone camera far outperforms this camera. I'm not disappointed, I thought I knew what I was getting, but I am nonetheless underwhelmed. Save your money, unless you are looking for a gift for a younger person who just likes cameras, then this would be great. ... show more

Very good dv, I bought one for my brother, he likes it very much. Cost-effective, because it does not require you to spend hundreds of thousands to buy a professional camera, he has his own mic, the recording effect is very good.

    • What a disappointment..Do Not Buy!
My Wife and I purchased this video camera for my son as a Christmas present. He likes creating videos for his YouTube channel and I figured this would be a great starter camera for him. Well shame on me! This camera is awful, and that's an understatement. There is no way this is 4k, I don't even think it's HD. All of our videos even after setting up lighting , I'm talking high end drop lights, the output is still dark. Does not matter what we do the end video looks like it was shot at midnight under cloudy skies. Unfortunately, I purchased this early December and by the time we realized what a colossal waste of money it was, the refund period ram out. Please do yourself a favor and spend a little extra monet for a real video 4K camera. Because this ain't it. Don't waste your money! ... show more

You get what you pay for. This is absolutely by no stretch of the imagination a 4K, 2K or even a 1080p camera or Video camera. I tried both photos and videos indoors and outside, going through all of the resolution and FPS options and nothing got above 720. I tried looking at them on 2 laptops and my 4K TV but nothing looked about 720. I honestly got better photos on my cellphone 10 years ago. Silly me for expecting something great for so little money. The field of view is really small and you need a ton of lighting to capture anything near decent quality. The provided external mic did not pick up voices too well. Honestly I wouldn't get this for anyone.
