    • Got my audio up and running.
I have tried a coupe of different brand that would work with my Samsung TV, Apple TV and Proscan amp . This one worked well. My amp is old and did not work with audio over HDMI, and the Samsung cheaped out and did not have optical out. I am happy.

All the expected features work but unfortunately there's noticable latency. This device won't work for gaming. I wanted to use this for gaming but I'll have to send it back. Still good if you don't plan to use this device for games and don't care about latency.

It downscales my xbox down to 1080p and will not display in 4k. I have tried 4k@30 and 4k@60 and both fail.

For my use case this worked perfectly. My receiver would do 5.1, but could only do 1080p video. Got a 4K TV for the room. Only use a Roku Ultra for my source. Connected this to the output of the Roku, then this to the TV, then went to an Optical port for 5.1 audio. Set the box to "bitstream". It just worked. This has been working flawlessly for over a year. Great buy. BUT - it developed a strange pulsing video problem. Static and black screen every second or so. Forgot this piece was in the HDMI cable path - so thought there were issues with other video gear. When bypassed, all was well.
