Really excited to use this fence stretcher! It is incredible heavy-duty and mostly quite intuitive, so it should work so much better than the current system we've been using - 2x4s screwed together with lag screws to pinch the ends of the fencing together and hold it straight... Yep, this should be much better! We have another 300' of fenceline to replace this month, and we're just using regular field fence/page wire, so just under 4' and not the heaviest duty gauge fencing. Make sure you read the other reviews regarding a little bit of jerryrigging necessary to make it work a bit more as intended, though!

I wish I had bought this a few hundred yards of fence ago. No more rigging braces with 2x4s. This is just right for your 4' fence but I would use it on a 5 if I needed. It's heavy, very solid, and the fence would snap before this bent. The metal wedges hold the fence securely and there are multiple options to hook and tighten. And, it is super easy to use, much less time consuming than my home rigging; that's worth the purchase there. Great purchase.

AOPEC 4ft Woven Wire Fence Stretcher Bar with 5 Wedges, Made in China - Without question this is a heavy duty field fence/wire stretcher. At about 30 pounds, including wedges, it is heavy and robust when compared to my older stretcher that is made of wood and steel and weighs only about 18 to 20 pounds. It is very well made and of nice finish. I expect it will outlast my old one by far. The downside of it is the 30 pound weight; it will be noticed at the end of a day riding fences. The main thing I did not like about it is the loops for the wedges are simply too shallow. They should have been deeper/taller so that more of the wedge could be inserted, covering and locking down more of the fence to be stretched. Additionally, that same issue means that heavier gauge fencing will affect inserting the wedges even more. The wedges need to be inserted at least another inch to make this workable and versatile and the shallow loops prevent that. Even though this stretcher is well made, it is not well thought out and apparently not field tested. That makes it about average for me as I do not like modifying something that should have been made right the first time. With a little more effort, this could have been a winner.

Wow! This is the most heavy-duty fence stretcher I've ever come across. Way beyond anything I've used from the big box home improvement stores. The unique design includes several large steel cleats for securing the chain link fencing to the stretcher. With other devices I've used you have to keep tension on the fencing in order to keep it attached to the stretcher. Not so with this product. Once you've secured the fencing to the stretcher you could lay it flat or twist it and the fencing will not come off until you remove the cleats. This device is designed for 4' chain link fencing but would also work with any 4' sheep or chicken fencing. This product is the definition of professional/industrial strength!
